Hey Hawk, in one of the comics , you said you were from Bangledesh, right?

If this is true, do you like playing/watching cricket?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that Rounders is baseball. Man if they'd listened to my ideas no one would say it was boring anymore. I suggested putting land mines out in the field, and giant springs that would fling players into the air every so foten when stepped on one of which would have been a base. Also make the players wear a small bulls eye on the foreheads if the pitcher can hit that thing dead center then the batter is out no questions no complaints. We're also getting rid of bats here's a mace and be sure to carry it with you after you hit that fellow at first looks like he intends to give you some shit sir. Yeah it would have been great but they were all "What about player's safety? WHat about the children this gives a negative image of sportmanship." Pffffft. Hey if you can shake hands with a guy who hit you in the head with a ball going 246 mphs or struck with a mace while describing his late night activities with your mother in vivid detail you're a good sport in my book.

Not much of a difference I'm afraid between the two of them when you come down to it.

Baseball, Rounders, softball etc all just require you to be able to slog the ball and run.  Cricket requires a whole lot more finise and athleticism, both for the fielding side and the batting side.

lol, it's the only way to describe it to some people... I'm south african, our team was ranked number 1 not so long ago, we're second now again to Australia...

I remember having to try explain the game to an american guy who was visiting a while ago, let's just say I settled with 'It's similar to baseball' in the end Tongue

I would have thought Cricket would have been less athletically demanding on the batsman than Baseball et al.

Baseball players only have to be out on the field for a short time when batting, while cricket batsmen are required to be out on the field running from one stump to the other whenever they get the opportunity.  Then theres also the fact that the fielding side often have to sprint 30 or more metres on a regular basis to save runs, plus the bowler has to run in when bowling the ball, unlike Pitchers who just stand still and peg the ball.

Throw into that that an over is 6 balls and day's play often consists of over a 100 overs over the period of about 8 or so hours and that ends are changed at the end of each over.  If a baseball player tried to play professional cricket straight away, they would probably become pretty physically unwell.
