I've been really succesful in getting everything I need to make my Macintosh flow nicely with our OS 9 machines over at work. I have Quark 7, they have 4, and we both have Photoshop 7. And other non-sense.

The only problem we have thus far, is how to transfer the work PC's gigantic list of fonts over to my machine. Presumably, it's just a drag and drop from the servers fonts, to my fonts. Unfortunatly, OS X continues to give me a message stating that the font list in Tiger cannot be modified. Ever.

So, is there any way at all to go about copying the fonts, or is my dream of using Tiger at work squashed by something so darned trivial?

In OSX, drag and drop the fonts to a folder on your desktop. Double click each font and press install. This will open font book. I think there may be a way to install a bunch at once, but i don't know.

Whatever you do, don't open them all at once. They will all open at once. hundreds of fonts opening at once is no fun. Ten at a time, maybe, but not hundreds.

The idea of Fontbook seems to have worked... thus far. Thank you muchly. Both of you guys. This helps me a literal ton.

It's still attempting to process all the extra fonts though. I'm on 216, and still going up. It's not as fast as I would hope... oh, well... guess I'll walk aboot my office now.

Once again, thanks guys!

drag and drop into FontBook.

Drag and drop seems to do the same thing as selecting them all and double clicking. What would be nice: A listview installer for groups of 20 or more fonts.

I mean, if I'm installing a large number of fonts, I don't need to see what they look like.
