Eve

This is a topic for discussing Eve. It can be about her mentality/programming, her 'secret', etc.
I've gotta say that Eve is one of the most intriguing fictional AI I've ever seen. If you read the comics carefully, you can see that her goal-system is primarily relationship-based. She has concepts like apologizing inbuilt into her programming, she strives very hard to reach her friend's expectations and she actually seems to love Hawk; or barring that trust him deeply.
As ridiculously sappy as this sounds, Eve seems to be a gynoid built on caring...

the secret is that she is really a bot built from a combination of Dell and eMachines parts and an Intel Pentium, running Windows ME with an OS X GUI modification and 256 mb of RAM. She found this out when they plugged her in, and burst the radioactive containers on purpose to commit suicide upon learning the awful truth.

if u spent ALL of your MONEY on building an Uber Hawt Mac Girl.... wouldn't u be broke too? I'm pretty sure i would. I'd spend every penny on 'enhancements' for my Uber Hawt Mac Girl.

good point.. maybe he used scraps? or stealing from the Apple Store? he does visit them like.. u know..
Acting like a mad cult member to distract them from the actual fact that he was stealing from the Apple store.
Or maybe from 'someone's' Dad. A rich dad who would've funded Hawk to fix a Mac Girl... only to reclaim her if she was successful or destructive. Mmmm....

It doesn't take a lot of money to build a computer, at least, from spare and salvaged parts. Just an excess of L33TN355. One of my friends makes a living this way, building custom machines from flea market scrap and old frames. They certainly aren't as pretty as Eve, but hey, they're cheap and fast, and if it's for a friend, he paints and draws on them. They're like the old hotrods from the fifties, all power and spray paint and scrap metal. So, if logic follows, because Hawk has skillz, it wouldn't be as expensive to build eve as it may seem.
