I just read an amusing artical. Basically the guy was going to see someone he met through WoW an while flying there on the plane he dropped his iPod into the toilet by accident and caused a whole bomb scare that caused the plane to be landed.

True, the whole 'bomb scare' thing is getting way out of control. Especially with the new laws they've instituted about what you can take onto a plane ie. nothing.

I love how you can't take liquids onto a plane. I'm just waiting for, "Sorry sir, but we're going to have to squeeze you."

"..What?"

"No liquids on the plane, sir. And your body is clearly 80% water, sir. You'll have to be squeezed dry, sir." Ever notice when someone doesn't want you to make a scene they say, "sir" a lot?

Well, there is logic to the no liquids ban. Acetone peroxide is highly explosive if mixed properly with liquids (and what was used for the London bombings last year). Some was found with the people who were arrested in London that caused the recent carry on bans.

Acetone Peroxide requires an ice bath to be made properly. It simply could not be made on a plane. It possibly could be carried on if made beforehand but is highly unstable.

Haha oh I can imagine the highly trained radio transmission already;
"Sir I've found a small electronic device. I think it might be a bomb"
"Is it ticking?"
"No but it appears to be making some noise . . . waterloo sunset by the kinks if I'm not wrong"
"Curse those devious terrorists!"

It won't be long until they just call off all flights. I think by now, the térrorists shoudl target a new form of transportation.

This is exactly the problem with focusing on airport securty so much. In the end the "terrorists" can just go and bomb something else.

You can't board a plane with a comb, but you can carry your hunting rifle on a train...

As long as its in a rifle bag and never leaves it. I've carried my and my friend's airsoft equipment on the train before. Thats easily 2 rifles 2 smgs and 4 pistols but no-one gave me a second glance and if the train security got me I'll just politely tell them that I'm off to an airsofting event.

WOW....

Yeah I usually walk if its within 30 minutes walking distance. I once asked the London train station and a police woman how to get to this place and they directed to me to the tube but was shocked when I told them I wanted to walk it and gave me directions Tongue

I personally find all this paranoia hilarious I read on a forum somewhere that this guy got arrested for having a sex toy in his luggage. The airport people saw a strange object in his bag but he told them it was a bomb which was really his fault Tongue Although in his defence his mother was with him at the time and he didn't want to say that it was a sex toy. What a gimp lol

you cant really hijack a train though. If you do... theres only one place it can go. straight. So not much fear from that.
