I'd switch cause I love the pretty whiteness...
But as it is, I was in the mac store, drooling, and I was looking at the settings...and there was no right clicker on the mouse.
I have been raised with a right clicker. Maybe someday I'll learn how to use all that confusing tech... for now... PC for me (*tear*).
This "OMG no right click .. run" ignorance pisses me off. Either 1) use the two fingers on the trackpad + click or 2) get a multibutton mouse.

Jeez people, I am a PC Gamer. Play pretty competitively too (CPL, etc), yet am a recent mac convert. My Desktop is my gaming rig, but its only on when my team has scrims/matches going on, other than that I'm always on my macbook pro. Its not that my PC is unstable because it isn't. If you truly know ur stuff, u can make ur pc pretty resistant to viruses and other kinds of malware. Thing is, you shouldn't have to...My mom was laptop hunting a few months back and I decided to give her my powerbook g4. Why? I am tired that every time I go back home I have to run 1000 scans on her computer and get her back on running full speed. She's not too computer savy neither is my dad. With the powerbook, it doesn't matter. She does what she needs to do and moves on. Not any worries, EVER. Now, as for me, I fell in love with the OS. The unix base tingles the geek inside of me and the stability and feel of it just makes me love it even more. Like I said, I haven't had a BSOD on my windows machine, and only the occasional restarts (very very rare, and it was mainly due to a bad power supply) but...I LOVE OSX more anything else other than gaming
Yes I use PCs, but I rather have OSX...now if OSX ran all the games I play in my PC...well I'd never go back

Only by constantly running programs like Norton, McAfee, SpyBot and AdAware on a bi-weekly basis (realistically) and updating them constantly... And even then the general rule is give it 5 days before your anti-virus protection is useless because there's already a new set of viruses moving out into the world making your current protections useless.

You are one of the extreme few, very extreme in my experience. Then again, if you have XP it's rather hard to get it anymore. It used to be you got it when the OS became highly unstable and stopped being able to operate. It was the computer's way of saying, "I'm dead, push my restart button." Now you only get it when you have a hardware failure, which I have. I lost an 80GB hard disk to that OS...
Anyway this is getting off topic. The comic wasn't about which is better, most people recognise now that Macs are superior to PCs when it comes to art/design related fields (except my friend who still thinks PCs are better for 3D regardless of the fact that Pixar uses Macs), but that they are so expensive. Which yeah, they are... Very, very expensive.

And about unstable computers...
I don't recall Apple having such an outstanding problem such as this on their operating systems, although I could be incorrect.

Meh, ME sucked anyways. I should have been forgotten a long time ago.
ME gave me a BSOD when my HD died, but like I said, I dont beleive that to be the OS' fault, just a bad hard drive. What I really hate about XP is that you have to restart whenever it does a big time update. And it'll do it for you; you click to restart later, and 3 minutes pass and you get a countdown for restart again. I DONT WANT TO FUCKING RESTART YET YOU SUNUVUBIATCH!!! Other than that, I havent really had any issues with stability or BSODs on XP.
But I, much like Hawk did, would definatly start humping a macbook or a macbook pro. They're sooo sexy *drools*

Wrong, that WAS the OS lol. ME was the worst thing to ever come out of MS. Now, though I like XP, ME was horrible in everyone's eyes. Ewww ohh the memories. Like I said, XP can be "stable" and "malware free" but not by its own two ft. Like someone already said, you need tons of third-party applications and tweaking in order for it not to die on the internet. If you deny this do this test. Clean install of XP, don't change any settings xcept for maybe the popups that come up asking you to enable auto-updates. Now, use just IE w/ default settings and surf the web for 3 days. I don't mean go to ur usual blogs/comics either . I mean surf it like u would if u were actively looking for something. A week later, install some antispyware and antivirus and see what u picked up by just browsing w/ default settings
Now try that on a mac
I like XP for gaming, but my everyday stuff is OSX. Btw, to not stay so off topic about comic, I'm lil-hawk w/ sis
She loved my notebook and is getting a new macbook soon

The thing is, a lot of Mac users fail to see is WHY Windows gets so many Trojans, Viruses, and crashes, even though I've never had a problem with them on my PC. It isn't because the Mac is super secure or super stable.
As for Trojans and Viruses, the reason Macs never seem to get them is because no one makes Trojans or Viruses for the Mac. Whether the makers of the Trojans and Viruses are trying to see what you're doing or just trying to cause you grief, they want to attack as many of you as possible. Since Windows has so many more users than the Mac, it's logical that they would make Viruses and Trojans for Windows instead of the Mac.
As for crashing and instability, the same basic concept applies. Hardware and software makers want to make as much money as possible, and to do that they need to have a lot of customers, and since a lot more people use Windows instead of the Mac, they are going to produce hardware and software for Windows. Windows, in turn, has to be made to be compatible for the software, but more importantly for the hardware.
Since PC's, unlike Macs, have the ability to swap out individual parts to upgrade, that means there will be different brands for the same kind of part and different brands for different parts. Windows has to make all of these different versions work together, hence the use of drivers and updated drivers and such. As for external hardware such as printers, there are many different brands, versions, and types of printers, and Window's can't be expected to come with all of the drivers.
Macs don't have to deal with this problem, since all of their internal hardware is fixed, and is made by generally the same company(as far as I know). Their external hardware is also probably made by very few different companies, and they are all made specifically for the Mac.
Basically, I don't like how some Mac users I know act like, "How come Windows is so popular if it's such crap? The Mac is so much better, it should be in Windows's place," and they fail to realize that if the Mac was as popular as Windows is now, it would be suffering a lot of the same problems that Windows has.
Sorry, I know the discussion about this has ended, but I don't like so many people having so many misconceptions.

Agreed, that article was great, and raised a lot of really great points. I like the broken window theory too, which makes a lot of sense applied to Windows, ironically enough.

There are many multibutton mice(youve used em), and most of them work with OS X. A trackpad is the... pad... on the laptop that you... track... your finger around to move the mouse onscreen.
Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Still though, I have no idea where they are getting their data from. No one I know has had major problems with viruses or spy/adware. I made my last post on the assumption that Windows DID have several security flaws, but I have never personally met someone with any major virus or spy/adware problems.
I would post the picture directly on here, but I think it's too big.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v510/ParasiteDragon/Virusmb.jpg
I didn't even know that my virus checker checked for viruses that much, but as you can see, I haven't had any. Its log goes back to 2/11/06, and it shows 0 viruses all the way.
Anyway, even if Windows suddenly becomes total absolute crap, smothered in viruses and spy/adware, I'm never going to switch to a Mac. It's not that I'm a dedicated Microsoft lover, it's not that I'm stubborn, it's that all the Mac users I know seem to be annoyingly arrogant, and I don't want to be in the same group as them.

its pretty ignorant in itself to not want to try or own a computer because you think the majority of it's owners are themselves... ignorant.
