1st post ever... and it's re-reviving a dead thread.

Does it count that Cosmic Spidey beat the crap out of the hulk? I had a nice poster of that on my wall when I was young (Spidey asking "NOW who's the strongest one there is?" or something to that effect) - I believe it ended with Spidey tossing the Hulk into orbit ("The cold doesn't bother me, and I can hold my breath a long time... but I think re-entry is going to hurt").

But of course, this is Cosmic Spider-Man... so it's cheating.

Actually, back in Amazing Spider-Man a couple of years back, Spidey was fighting a gamma-powered baddie and beat him. He said he has a theory on how to beat the Hulk, but it would kill Hulk. It's just a theory though and has yet to be tested.

This guy is right. Spidey fought an enemy who's powers were based off the Hulk's. He did a lot of research on how to beat him using his mad science skills and he eventually won. At the end of the issue Mary Jane asks if he could beat the Hulk and Spidey says yes, he's pretty sure he could, but he wouldn't do it unless there was no other option, because it would kill Hulk.

I presume it would kill him in the same way as the other enemy, who basically fell apart.

I'll try to find the comic.

I've heard something about that. He can't turn back into Banner or he'll die instantly. There's also the Maestro, the future Hulk who survived a nuclear war, making him more powerful but totally crazy and evil.

And the conversation takes place in Amazing Spider-man Vol 2 #54. It goes like this:

SPIDEY: Everybody in our odd little community would deny it, but we all watch each other when we cross paths, looking for weaknesses, in case that day ever comes. In case they ever have to stop me...or I ever have to stop them. But we never talk about it. Ever.
MJ: So in that case... you must've thought about how to beat the Hulk.
S: That's right.
MJ: So does that mean you've figured out how to beat him?

Then Spidey hits his thumb with a hammer and tries to change the subject.

MJ: ...Could you really beat the Hulk?
S: Yeah. Yeah, I could. But the only way to do it, to really stop him, would be to kill him.

So...we done with this now?

We have seen plenty of Batman vs. Superman threads, so lets try something different Tongue

My vote goes to Spidey for this reason: Mr. Parker and the Hulk are incredibly strong, but Spiderman is extremely agile and very smart, so he would discover a way to take down the Hulk, as opposed to the Hulk just smashing everything in his way.

Let the discussion begin!

Hi Ollie here just wanted to say The Hulk can't die and spidey can swing everywhere with the agility of a spider (Obviously). So very intresting fight but spideys web would not even harm Hulk, the power of hulk could squash spideys Ass  Grin so I think you should bring in the SAS to shoot them all...LOL I hope it dosen't happen I love them both!  Smiley

Spider-man is (or at least once was) one of the most intelligent people on the planet and therefore isn't stupid enough to let the Hulk get close enough to hit him, he is just going to run and grab Betty Ross who can calm Hulk down, or he would just make him made and then lead him to a peaceful place, and then hide and let Hulk calm down, admittedly that isn't a very interesting comic but if you throw super villains into it who are responsible for the Hulk's current state it does become amusing.
