I haven't been following football for the last couple of years. Before I used to suppor Arsenal since I'm from London, but I haven't had the time to watch any matches and I just lost interest. I still play it for fun with friends, but not very often.

Pele or Maradona without question. Those two, specifically Pele, it basically was if one of them was on your team and you weren't facing the other, you won.

I'm interested to see what this Freddy Adu kid can pull off. They're saying he'll be the next Pele and all that. Blasphemy but who knows! I mean... D.C. United at 14 that's impressive!

Freddy Adu is pretty amazing. I HATE Maradona. Pele will always be a futbol god.

For now though, yea Ronaldihnio is one of the best. I think Roberto Carlos is my favorite, but I dunno, I havent kept up with pro soccer in a long time. I just know that my team (Colombia) has been sucking for the past few years very very badly

I'm not a big ManU fan, just because my uncle gave me my first soccer jersey from Liverpool, sooo you can now see why.  As in best footballer?  of all time?  If of all time, in my lifetime, probably Ian Rush.  Just an awesome striker from that time before the premiership was established and it was just goal scoring shootouts....

For now?  Ehhh, I dunno, there are a lot of great players...as much as I hate to say it....Wayne Rooney *shiver* is just awesome.  And at 19 years old and can shoot that ball like a laser beam.  All I know is that I don't want to be the goalkeeper stopping his shot just outside the box, because i'm gonna be coming out with broken hands....heheh

Although all time greatest would be well actually its tough, i dont think i can point out one, but pele and maradona, zidane all good. Beckham... highly overrated..

Pele, is just awesome, but I never was able to see him with my own eyes playing, at least live.  But he did change the way soccer has been played forever.....

As with Freddy Adu, I'm not so sure about him.  Yes he's a great talent, i'll give him that, but at 14 to make a MLS squad sounds like a great accomplishment, but then you have to remember, it's the MLS.....it's utter crap.  Twilight euro players and south american players play in this league.  He didn't even make it to the first team.  Also after watching him in the U-19 FIFA championships last year, he really didn't impress me, actually he didn't impress me yet.  I think he needs a good team to be surrounded by, so he can actually shine.  There's rumor that he might actually go to Chelsea when the Premiership ends this season too, but don't quote me on that though.

Well, sorry, I'd have to vote for Pele, hands down... Maradona is cool, but hmmm... punching the ball really is not a good thing to do :-P I would have to agree with SmartNoPoi about Adu. I mean, he hasn't impressed me yet. I saw him play against Arsenal in a friendly back in either July or August (yes, I live in DC, lol), and he's not that brilliant. I mean, not like Rooney brilliant.

Hmmm... Rooney IS good. I mean, lol, I just saw him scored twice and a bezillion near-score today (technically, yesterday, it is 437 now, and I am awake and posting. Dear god, I have become an insomniac). Yeah, now, him, I could relate with kizlode about having his babies, etc. Tho, hmmm, I think I'd go more for Ronaldo. Have you seen what he can do with the ball? I mean, it's like "now you see now you don't" trick. So so cool. Watching him live was even cooler, lol. And yes, those two players are still very young.

You know, I am curious, had Pele not be declared "national treasure", and free to play in the europe, what will happen to him?
