As a long-time spiderfan, I have to say this costume kinda sucks as opposed to the traditional one or the black venom-style one.

But if it lets spidey scoot around in outer space... that'd be cool.
The whole Civil War thing coming up has something to do with outer space, doesn't it?

Also, completely off topic, but notice how much pull Bendis has at Marvel... New Avengers is the first time Spiderman has ever joined a team full-time.  Craziness.  Ooh!  What if this is a new trend.  Next up the Captain America-inspired Spiderman outfit!  Extra patriotic for the 4th o July.  And the one I'm really waiting to see, the one inspired by Scarlet Witch (hoominama!)

It appears that this costume is to be used as a representation of Spidey's inner conflict over the civil war. Also by the look of this cover, they also plan to use spidey as the focal point of the conflict which is always cool.Admitidly I hate the costume, but I love the fact that it will make spidey a key player in the war and a link between the factions.

Hell yeah! Young Avengers. If they play a big role in this I would crap my pants. Can't wait for the crossover with Runaways.

And it was pretty much public knowledge that Spidey would play a key role in Civil War. I mean, he's one of their biggest characters. Admittedly, I like the costume. He's had the old one for too long. You're all cranky.

I'm glad that he's seen in the old suit in Civil War pics. His old suit still looks better. Hopefully, when it's all said and done, he'll be back in the old red and blues.

Aside from the arms, his little golden Spidey socks annoy the living hell out of me.
Just make his whole damn foot gold and end my misery!
But really, it works if they use the red more for highlights than a solid colour or just red. I'd prefer just red (ala symbiote).

If you read the 'Mr. Parker Goes To Washington' story arc (when Tony Stark actually gives Peter the new suit) it turns out that the suit can change colours, so spidey can actually make it look like the old suit and even camoflage himself. He does this momentarily, but shifts it back to the way it regularly looks.

It's pretty kickass too, it's bulletproof and the arms work just by peter thinking about it, but there's this whole thing about Peter being Tony Stark's bitch now. Like he's Tony's go to guy... and personal bodyguard or something.

Interesting to see how this will play out.

I still dont get why Capt America and Iron Man are on opposing sides..

CivilWar is about the superheroes becoming government employees, right? Iron Man things that this is a good thing, and will take away the blame from superheroes blah blah blah.

Meanwhile, Captain America believes that a hero is someone who does the good for their own intentions, not money. That forcing all supes to become something they don't want. So a divide is building.

How it begins to escalate, I don't know. But it all begins in only a few days, so I'm excited. Should prove to be amazing.

I don't know Captain America's take on this, but I know Tony Stark's against the idea. If you read Amazing Spiderman 530, you'll know that they're going to Washington to talk those crazy senators out of pushing the bill.
