So long as I can buy a Mac from Apple that runs OSX, or whatever they may call it in the future, I couldn't care less what's inside. If they maintain the standards they have kept up to this point, they could have hamsters swimming in monkey excrement and I wouldn't care, so long as it did its job.

And I don't see why it should make a negative difference to anyone, if Apple, as they say they will (I can say to myself tehre is no reason to doubt this) port everything to X86 chips.

Would anyone say no to a dual 4ghz G<insertnumberhere> Powermac?

I didn't think so.

As for the look, nothin' wrong with the brushed aluminium Cheesy
Wouldn't supprise me to see a new, sleeker looking box though. With little to no hint htere's an Intel in there. So. Go Apple, for having the balls to switch to Intel Cheesy

Apple invested an even greater amount into multicolor computer cases too and it even sparked a revival in the peripherals industry but they dumped all that first for graphite which evolved into silver and then brushed metal for pro hardware and later white for consumer computers.

Each stage of Apple's Jobs II era seems to have different design schemes. First, they made a bold statement with the blue & white and the fruities, once they got back on their feet healthy and wealthy, they went for the clean, professional look as if to say "We mean business". Now that they're a major player again, they're taking a step away from their traditional homeground and into enemy territory. I'd say the time is ripe for a completely fresh new sets of designs for the entire Macintosh line-up.

Stop me if you've heard this one . . .
Perhaps the first universal binary of a non-developer-version OSX program, Eyephedrine. Well, iTunes vis, but those are almost programs in their own right.

This seems very early for anything that is "the universal binary for PPC and Intel OS X" to be available.

Uh...not really. I ported serveral apps I had been working on to Universal Binaries the day I downloaded Xcode 2.1. For a good deal of Cocoa apps there's very little that needs to be done to release a UB.
