For some reason every once ina  while my computer just scrolls up and down windows without me doing a damn thing. And not just like internet explorer, it's any window that has a scroll bar. It doesnt seem to be in conjunction with how long the computer has been on, what programs are open or anything and it's really fucking annoying. Any help in figuring out how to get rid of the daemons would be great.

What kind of mouse do you have?  I have an old optical and now it does the same thing every once in a while.  My cursor also twitches sometimes.

Oh yeah off topic note:  GIR is by far one of the coolest cartoon characters.  I like your avatar.

I have a wireless mouse and keyboard combo so I guess it's entirely possible they could be the cause. And thanks.

There's your problem.

Some wireless equipment can pick up interference from the strangest placest.  I've thrown out my old wireless keyboard because every time my local quarry were blasting explosives, everything would seriously go weird!

If they support it, try to change the frequency of the mouse/keyboard and that should hopefully sort out the problem!

I've had problems in the past with wireless (rf) mice and my wacom.  For some reason if they get too close to each other (~1' or less), the mouse pointer starts freaking out on the screen.
Odd, eh?

I haven't used a wireless mouse or keyboard since.

I too have had trouble with the "consumer" grade wireless products, especially when at the maximum distance of the device.  I ended up buying a $400.00 mouse/keyboard combo (gyro-mouse) style.  I actually like it, but if you don't need a wireless keyboard for anything more than keeping your desk clean...ditch it!  I thought it would be a "cool" thing for my computer at work...it created such a headache I ditched it!

If you have to get one though, expect to spend $300-$400 to get one that works.  I put 2 into the boardroom at my work before finally getting the 3rd one which works GREAT!  I still have to put batteries in the keyboard and make sure the mouse is on the charger or I get everyone calling complaining that the boardroom is broke...you just can't win.

Hope that helps...

Yeah, that all explains a lot. Unfortunately I can't change the frequency manually though bot devices oftens eem to change channels by their own accord. And I can't get rod of either the mouse or keyboard because I like to lay in bed while I type or whatnot and I just hate cords. But thanks for the advice.

Batteries, batteries, batteries. I have tons of wireless gear. Logitech hold up the best in my opinion. I have a wireless microsoft mouse. It works good until the battery starts to die. When this begins to happen I see two things: 1) the mouse is slow in reaction, 2) signal reception gets stuck. The second one bugs me the most. What I think happens is that the signal gets sent and then doesn't shut off. On my screen a window will keep scrolling, a button does not unclick, the mouse goes rolling off on it's own... stupid! My logitech equipment just stops working (after a long time of use!) which I prefer. Sometimes I just have to change the channel, but mostly it's the battery. I have switche dup to the newer equipment that comes with the base station charger. I like it much better.

I've got the logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo and i've had t for 2 years. I really wish I had gotten the rechargable one, but this is fine until I bother getting one. The battery strength really doesn't seem to have much affect on my problem as it can heppen whenever. but thanks for the advice.

You're welcome. I had the wireless keyboard form that set when they first hit the market. It rocked and set, for me, the standard to which I try to keep all my wireless gear. I was very disapointed by the Wireless XBox controller that Logitiech put out. Where as all my other gear works great, it seems to lag or respond badly. I was given a Eclipse wireless controller for my birthday. It works much better.

It might be a radio interference problem as someone else suggested.
