every time you open your email, or every time you open the web browser? Ive only ever heard of that for web browsers, and IE at that, meaning it cannot load your homepage, or none is set. If it is your email, I doubt defragmenting your HD would help, let alone refragmenting it But for general future knowledge, if you're running windows, you can defrag by going to Start>accessories>system tools>Disk Deframenter It will take a while.

it could have been all those damn mods my lil bro dled onto the comp for diablo 2... im guessin.. but if i take em off he'll just dl em right back on.. so theres really no point to subjecting my computer to the same torture its already been through
and as for yelling at him and telling him not to dl em again... wont work unless i block the site somehow...

Password the computer .

or you could setup a hosts file on your computer and redirect what ever site he goes to to like msn.com, 127.0.0.1, or any other website.

*sigh* Is there any IE problem FireFox can't solve?
Although...if Safari had a Windows version, it might contend with FireFox quite well.

*sigh* Is there any IE problem FireFox can't solve? Yeah... Users idiocy. I use IE6, and have no problems with it. PS: I don't mean you or any of the forum readers. I mean in general. 95% of problems with computers are usually users idiocy.

Hmm... which version of IE was it where viewing a malformed JPEG image could infect you with a virus... some googling has only gotten it down to IE6 SP1... along with just about every other software Microsoft makes . ( clicky) PS: I don't mean you or any of the forum readers. I mean in general. 95% of problems with computers are usually users idiocy. Still, even if you arn't an idiot you can get pegged with spyware and the like even with default security levels.
