Counter-Strike for Mac?

I agree, Counterstrike stinks, too many bots, cheats, and whiners, and people who are terrible players (like me). And while it wouldnt prevent me from switching, Half Life 2 and its Source Powered mods will make me keep my desktop PC around awhile longer (along other games/software i own). That said, i only have one program i run that would keep me on my laptop (im logged into it almost all the time), a little known
space flight sim
that is under development, and is completely Direct X 9 based. If he could get the client and sound module ported to Mac I would consider a PowerBook at some point, as i roam on numerous wifi's and would prefer something a little more secure (or is that obscure?) to most people.
PS. Anyone have experiance porting code from PC Direct X 9 to Mac? If so any thoughts would be helpfull.

yep. although 1.5/1.6 takes the cake, those in my opinion were better than CZ or source, although source's physics are admirable, i think previous versions were better

Stop whining about aim bots.
There isn't that much cheating just people moan about it too much.
Anyway, if your good, ppl with aim bots can be pwned easily.
Mostly crap players use them to look like they're. BUT they're still crap.
I mean look at Halo. Now that's got some hitbox problems...
A rocket can fly past you and kill you, but it doesn't explode on you! But on the wall a mile behind you. Rather than exploding on you!
Then there's the whole frigging shooting thru the ground and solid walls...
CS suffered from that. Not too much now. But you never use a wooden box for cover ; )

The only time you could really avoid these problems in CS was to enter a league. That seemed to work pretty well. Even when you found a good server, script-kiddies could enter with their cheats. That's why I only played with people I knew IRL. I needed to know that I was the only one cheating (j/k)
The problem with CS is that its so popular that cheats are readily availible for everyone, even people who couldn't put in the effort to make them themselves.
Back to CS on the Mac. Its unlikely that a game that is starting to die (sorry fans) would be ported. We'll just have to wait for:

Anyway, relatively back to the issue. The Macs do at least have Unreal Tournament 2004, which is a great game for multiplayer (I think it's better than CS). There's also Quake III which is still played quite a bit, and you can get the same Urban Terror mod for that too.

I dunno, I love CS so much, and I don't think cheating is nearly as bad as people say it is. If cheating were so bad, I wouldn't be as good as I am (usually 2/3 kills to 1 death on bad days). If anything, I would say noobs flooding and stacking teams is the worst thing.
Even then, it just improves my score.
As far as Urban Terror, it kinda looks fun. My cousin plays that one all the time... Eh, the sacrafices for better performance.

I wouldn't be surprised. Using software emulation to play graphics-heavy 3D games is...
...stupid.

Better off just saying that games simply don't work on VPC. If you want to play games on Windows, use a proper Windows machine.
