Judging by the fact that hawk designed my site from the ground up, and he works as a web designer, I can only assume it's a custom-build php/SQL setup.

There's a thread somewhere where Hawk' answered this.
But, he made it all from the ground up from what I can remember.

So my advice, is to start learning PHP or use Google to find a PHP script site.

you could always use my friends.  A nice web portal thingy using PHP and SQL with the smarty template backbone system.  Its very easy to use and such.

Of course im biased a bit lol.  I have seen some others, but most comic users use a custom PHP thingy as far as I can tell.

You can check it here: http://www.enisoc.com/

Ok, sorry to start flaming, while hawks script is good you can get free scripts out there.  one of the best is BTphp which was made for reallife (before they started using ioncomix) http://www.enisoc.com/

There is also the suicide script that sam and fuzzy use.  can't find link at this moment (at work)

but seriously, when you're stupid enough to persue this, shouldn't you be using keenspace anyways?
