hummm... question.. if anyone looked it up or any ideas feel free to comment.
how does the halo  system work anyways...
the best i could think is that they generate some sort of electric field controlled by the amount of power avaliable defined by the mass of a solar system... or a connection of them all would have some sort of negative-positive electromagnetic field that would either split everything on it's path, some sort of pipe system. i don't know....ideas.

Asside from it being said the ring has a maximum range of 25,000 light years on its own not much else is stated as to how the rings work other than they just will collectively work together to destroy all life.

Just kinda thought of this...

if the Flood is trapped on those rings why do the rings need to destroy all life?
I have to admit i've never played the game(but it's on my list when i can get the xbox), but my impression is that the rings are out to destroy the flood if it ever gets out. and the covenant was protecting the nearest halo from being openned or activated and they're willing to flatten any plantets (ie:earth) that try to stop them from doing their job.

so master cheif better hope that the flood does not get out. i got a feeling that the flood is bad enough news to be worth it to activate the haloes in order to get rid of them. I could be wrong, since i have not played 1 or 2, but my egm -mag did give me the lowdown on the story(if riddled with spoilers.)

Well, I had to ignore something like 4 invites, but I finally finished the game on Normal.  Now I just have to do it on Legendary Cheesy

According to Bungie.org, the Feb 9th date is completely made up.  There is no truth to it at all.

right. i would not know, since i dont have a halo2 that i can finish on legendary difficulty(i'd have hard enough time on easy). so i dont even know if "feb 9th" will appear. i get the feeling of us looking back : "remember the beggining of the 'feb. 9th' internet myth?"

i can't believe that i thought halo was just some really good fps. not just some really good fps with a really cool story. but then, i dont like fps's anyway so it took me until about a week ago to realize that halo was worth a shot. Sad the dmg was done back when the gc came oput. not i'm stuck staring at it, trying to imagine that mario is really master chief

There is now a patch available on XBL that fixes the following bugs:

480p: The 480 progressive setting on some HDTVs was causing the onscreen display (HUD) to cut off.

Unlocking Foundation:  I'm not going to try to eaplain what was going on there again, just know that if you beat the game on any difficulty level and do the banshee's A button moves (Barrel roll and flip) that you will unlock Foundation.

Matchmaking: It no longer takes forever to get a matchmaking game going.

Failed to load Map: Although not entirely alleviated, and it never will be, you will see this error a lot less now.

Found this interesting set of videos today: http://files.mythica.org/halo/darkhelmet

pretty interesting stuff, although not really useful.

Oh, and watch the "learn how" video last as it is super long :|

My entire night has been full of just goofing off trying to get into places I am not supposed to.

I must have wandered all over the tops of buildings Outskirts level. I found both the blind skull and the energy sword in there.

I've also of course tested the sword flying and it's stupidly easy to do.

I don't see why everyone's complaining so much about the ending to Halo 2. What were you all expecting? The Covenant to be completely annihilated and a dozen Spartan soldiers to just show up out of nowhere for no particular reason?.

It sure would have been nice  :?

Seriously, it just feels like game is the second Matrix movie. Nothing really answered, just more questions presented and left to stew around in your brain until the next game comes out...and you know how long THAT wait was...

The game was an awsome expierence. And Matrix reloaded would be alot better if Matrix revolutions didn't try to please everyone.
I loved the ending. I loved that I have to wait for the next one. I don't enjoy the waiting, but something this good should be drawn out. There is far too much story depth to be answered in the second anyways. The list of questions from the first one is huge, and the second did, contarary to popular belief answer more then it asked. I think that the ending was perfectly done. A good mix of resolution, and threads still unanswered.
Read more books. Get used to it. It is life.
