The following is a concern that has been floating around XBL gaming forums for a while now.

"I want to play Halo2 online, but I don't want some asshat ruining the single player for me"

Solution:  Me and a few others running around to various online forums and starting up "No Spoiler" game announcements.

Personally I will be playing Halo2 online November 11th (Vetran's Day and I a lot of US citizens will have it off) and the weekend of the 12th as well as the weekend after that hosting games where no spoilers are allowed.

These will be private games only.  That means if you want in, you have to be on the friend list of someone who is partaking in these no spoiler games.

In order to keep games rolling I ask that we try to keep the number of no spoiler hosts down.  If there are 10 people hosting no spoiler games and only 30 people that know about them that means that there are only 3 people per game.  The idea is to get no spoiler games going, add some people to your friend list, and then branch off into new no spoiler games as needed.  If it gets big enough, the organization may be taken to an IRC chat, but I doubt it will get that big.

For those interested in participating my gamertag is billf.

Fair warning, I can only control games that I am hosting and I already have some established XBL friends that I will want to play some games with and if I'm not hosting, I can't control them or what they say.

Oh, and the punishment for discussing Halo2 single player campaign in one of my games is that you get shot... repetedly... by everyone in the game... for the rest of the game.

dude, i'm super pumped about Halo2, but I think i'll probably knock the single player out of the way before I take it online.

I wish I wasn't so damn excited about this game.

Super good idea about the Spoiler-Free games! I support it 100%!

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. I've got a 4 day weekend since my Friday classes are canceled for student assessments, but I don't have to take them. More Halo for me I guess.

I'll add you to my list billf tomorrow morning. I would very much like to take part in these games if I could.

Perhaps we should be listing gamertags as well. I can't host a game (i've got enough lag just playing) but I am very interested in playing. I have avoided alot of game forums for this very reason. I will try to add you billf, but feel free to send me to another group if needs be... I have a hunch that you will have full games pretty quick.

Anyone can create a game in Halo2.  The game is designed so that whoever has teh best connection is the host box.

hmm... so in other words, I could set up the game, but not have my poor wireless connection struggling to keep up the hosting demand? That seems very odd to me Wink but I think that it is a very smart thing to do.

Does the host machine determine who is the host player? For example, if I create the game, and your machine hosts, would I still have control of game settings, banning, etc?

Yes.  THe game creator maintains all control of the game settings.  Also, if the XBox that's hosting the game quits, whoever is next in line for the best connection takes over.  Even in the middle of a game.  So in other words you won't have the stat droppers that you get in Mech Assault.

I believe you also have to actually go to the bungie website to see any kind of stats, so less people will be concerned about them.

He saves Earth
And at the end 'he' takes off his helmet to reveal that 'he' is a transgender hero (think metroid, only wrong)

Ah yes I forgot that as I was going to bed...

My tag is "Terminal James" so feel free to add me if you wish.

It'd be damn cool if we could get enough AppleGeeks people together for some games.

I got off LIVE this summer since I lacked a descent enough connection. Played Splinter Cell 2 all the time, but everyone got insanely high ranked since I left now so don't play that much anymore.

Now I come back on, and all the strangers I had in my friends list are never online anymore either. I'm guessing they were all people using those free three month account deals you get with games.

Needless to say now I don't really have anyone on my friends list anymore. Halo 2 will change that soon though me thinks.
