Agreed. They were just a pain, in the first one when they came I actually stopped playing the game for a few days because the build up to it an everything scared the crap out of me. |

hahaha, yeah, the flood are scary in the original Halo because theyre brand new. In 2 its like... meh... not hard to kill, theres just tons of em and you're sick of it after a while.

It's not even that. Look at Doom, you know what's coming but it still scares you, because they make it scary. They worked to make it scary in the original Halo but they didn't so much in this one.

The way they were presented, though, was a masterpiece. I was in basic training and got a letter from my girlfriend that involved her playing Halo's campaign for the first time on PC. Late night, headphones, no other lights besides the monitor.  She was screaming (silently) "fscking RUN" etc. and other things that would have been priceless to see. What annoyed me was the areas where they would spawn infinetely. I knew it was neccesary since they are the 'flood,' but still. And I have to hand it to the Library to make fighting through them seem like quite an ordeal. |

In the second one it's gotten to the point where there are levels we don't fight the flood we just run through them shooting the ones that get close. So much fun.  |

The addition of the sword makes Flood encounters ridiculously easy in my opinion regardless of difficulty level. Even the ones with shields can't really do much before you swipe them twice and they fall. The only ones you ever really have to watch out for are carrying the rocket launchers it seems.

If you're playing online I, with my highly superior computer, would be able to play as well. I could be the cynical sniper, Knight could be the hard case sergeant berserker, and Shmi can be the loveable private who gets his guts shot out! Anyway this is getting off topic... |
