Proteus - Proteus is the closed source cousin of Adium. Like Adium it is built around the libgaim library but is not itself open source. Proteus isn't quite as customizable as Adium but it does provide quite a bit of customization options. It supports buddy icons for several networks (something Microsoft's official MSN client still isn't able to do).

Shmi, two corrections for this entry.  First, Proteus's web site has changed... it's now at http://proteusx.org/.  Secondly, it's now an open-source project; the code is available from the above link.

On closer inspection, these appear to be loafers.

Over a particular NIC? Or total bandwidth?

There are applications that let you monitor NIC traffic, but the only way I can see monitoring of individual applications' bandwidth being possible is if you were to write your own application.

I'm not aware of any products like that - you might have to write your own.

If you don't mind monitoring a whole NIC, there is surplus meter (goes off to fetch link.)

The simplest way to do that is quit any apps with open connections except the one you want to monitor. Install the free MenuMeters, which gives you a customizable menu item for monitoring one NIC at a time. It also has a well-stocked pulldown menu for detailed monitoring. A really handy feature is it automatically switches to monitoring the active interface whenever it changes.

allows you to convert and file mp3, aac, and just about every other audio file into an audiobook.

Audiobook Builder

Easy to use, allows you to convert and join many tracks into only a few.  I know that there are a few itunes scripts out there, but those are sketchy almost everytime a new version of itunes comes out.

FYI: the * symbol, in programming and file management is usually known as a 'wildcard character'.

The terminal can do everything you need - eg to copy all fhe JPG files with the number 6 in them to another folder, a command like the following would work:

cp *6*.jpg   /myimages/jpgs/
