So, that being said, how does everybody feel about this? Me personally, I think it's great, though the lack of support on the new ones for other OS' (particularly Linux) sort of upsets me, but I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Also, the main reason I'm happy about this is the new price point; the original price was far too steep for me to justify buying it, even after I had enough money because I simply could have bought a gaming computer for maybe a few hundred dollars more that could feasibly do more overall x_x. The only major thing keeping me from getting a PS3 was primarily the price, and interest in exclusive titles secondly.  Now that they're released titles I'm interested in (Metal Gear, Little Big Planet, ect.) I'm more inclined to entertain the thought.

What are your thoughts, guys?

I approve of lower price a lot! Me and a good friend of mine decided to save up for a PS3 and this comes as a good news, and he has PS2 so we are covered on compatability

I really like the new design. I got my PS3 used for about the same price but I still would prefer the Slim design. It isn't fair. :p

Maybe this will help improve the sales of the PS3? I hope so.
