Subsidizing for a new Macbook Pro
«

I currently have a first generation Macbook Pro (15 inch) and I have looked at the new one. Now, I've put it off and have said it was a luxury, but I am curious if it's at all possible to get the new one by somehow subsidizing it or trading in my old Macbook Pro and paying the difference.
The reason I'm tempted to do this is because, while it works fine, the case is a bit dented and I've been anxious to try a unibody one with the new keyboard. I asked a former Apple store employee who works at my college bookstore and he says that I may as well get the new one since the costs of having my current MBP would exceed the cost of the new one in terms of labor, shipping, and parts.
So, has anyone actually done this where they sold or traded in their old Mac laptop to subsidize for a new one? Or is this only possible through third-parties and without the help of Apple?

So far as I know, Apple doesn't offer any program like that. Just don't quote me on that.

Jin's right, apple doesn't do a trade in program like a car dealership does. you have to find a way to sell it to recoup some money, like eBay or Craigslist, or posting it in the local newspapers
