I remember seeing some screen shots last year and was skeptical.  When was the last time any Batman game was good?  I'm still a little wary about how the gameplay will turn out, but damn this looks cool!

Kotaku: Bane Goes Wild in Arkham Asylum

Seriously though, what was the last Batman game that was any good?  Lego Batman shouldn't count because it's more of a Lego game, IMHO.

Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but I try to take footage of one of the programmers playing with a grain of salt.  It still looks cool as hell though.

I was kind of expecting one of the armed thugs to yell out, "WHO ARE YOU?!?!" as Batman swooped down behind them.  That part in the movies Batman and Batman Begins were awesome.

Another trailer, this time with the first look at Harley Quinn.

A new look.

Like the Kotaku writer, I don't know about the look.  I often feel the same way about changes to costume changes for any character I like or a band's decision to change their "style", but I get over after a while.  I think this will go the same way.

I placed an order for it, but since my birthday is around that time I'm going to try and drop plenty of hints.  Maybe I can cancel it in time.

This is based only on rumors, but it'll suck if true.


UPDATE:

Looks like the rumors are true.    :'(

It's only delayed to the "end of summer 2009," though.  I think I can wait a little longer.  Maybe.

Some more images and info from the game.  Hearing about all of the aspects that Eidos has put into making a great Batman game is really getting my hopes up.  Like my previous comment, I'm pessimistic and may be setting myself up for a let down, but I appreciate the extra time they're putting in to fine tune it.

Anybody else play the demo yet?  I'm extremely excited about this game now.  The controls handled incredibly well.  It was a little weird hearing all the voices from B:TAS with this grittier look, but I got used to it.

You have to look for it in the new demos section of marketplace on Live.  It came out last Friday and I was surprised it wasn't featured.
