MBP Replacement?

Hey guys.
I got my MBP back in the summer of 2007 as a computer to take with me to summer classes that year. This summer will mark the second year that I have had it. Now, I know many of you are thinking "You've only had it for two years, give us a break!", but hear me out.
Since I got it, I've had the HD replaced once due to a corruption problem with an Apple update (assumption, never got an explanation) and got a new battery because I had drained the first one. On top of that, the case itself has sustained quite a bit of wear. Dinged out in the front and sides, they bottom frame shows openings and the area around the trackpad is taking wear to the point where the paint is near gone and its down the metal.
It runs fine in terms of software and operations, but I am curious about updating myself to the new MBP that is currently on the market. Of course, all this seems cosmetic to me so I am assuming I just need to 'man' up an deal with it.
Your thoughts? Appreciate it.

If all you're wanting is aesthetics, what about getting a fresh coat of paint and some kind of laptop armor to protect it from future wear? That should save you at least 1000-1500 dollars alone.

I think it so, then if they can use or can had to paint a laptop as a replacement,it makes sense for it,.
