My question is about Ramadan. I'm not a muslim (obviously, or I wouldn't be asking...XD) but when I was reading about it, a random thought occurred to me...why don't you switch your sleep patterns for the month? Sleep during the day and stay awake at night? My question isn't touching the practicality aspects (because sleeping during the day is gets all the work done), but the religious aspect of it, if that's okay...

I'm no expert in the field, but do you think life (work, classes, etc.) is really going to allow that?

My opinion is that defies the purpose.

Fasting means taking a test from God, and proving that you're a devout follower... (in essence anyway)

It's meant to make your life difficult, but proving that you're dealing with your life and following God...

So by making it easier on yourself... that kind of ruins why you're fasting (or following a religion) in the first place...

Mind you, this isn't just with Islam, it's with many religions.

Why were so many Jews when released from the concentration camps in WWII still believers of their faith even when they denied the existence of Yahweh when they lived in hell?

They had every right as human beings to say "Fuck you" and become atheists... yet so many did not.

Even better yet, why did any Jews fast while living in the concentration camp even when they were technically "fasting everyday" by being given so little food? They were already living skeletons, taking very little nourishment, and putting forth many hours of work, yet there were Jews that fasted...

All in all in, all in a day.
A day it changes everything.
