Photoshop CS4

Has anyone been paying attention to the upcoming CS4 for the Mac? With needing an Nvidia 8 or 9 series card to make use of the GPU accelleration is rather shitty. Guess I'll be upgrading my Mac now. Not being able to use that feature would drive me insane. So, I guess I'm stuck with the 24" iMac or the Mac Pro (back to peanut butter sandwhiches :'(. Maybe though there will be some gpu upgrade options for older machines.
Oh, does anyone know what only having 32-bit support instead of 64-bit like Windows machines will mean on the Mac? I haven't found too much about that.
Webmonkey had a nice little preview.

wtf, can't make a Mac 64-bit version? Can't you make 64-bit app's using Xcode?
Also it doesn't mention you
need
a 8 or 9 series NV card. What about all the high-end ATI cards in the current gen. Mac Pro's? Tbh, it'll use it if its got if not the CPU will do it all.

Stop using Carbon and use the newer Cocoa. Done.

My question is what does CS4 really offer that CS3 doesn't have? I admit, I cringed the moment I heard that CS4 was coming out...cuz I just got CS3 on my new iMac.

Yep Multimedia student so i'll be getting it to keep up with the change in technology however i'll probabley have to geta pirated version since I have jack all money. Now before I get any coments related to get getting pirated copies, if they made the applications actually afforadable for most people I would need to do this.
p.s. Yes I feel guilty in doing that.

They do have an affordable one, it's called Photoshop Elements.
But like contro said is there any point upgrading to it if there isn't any big and or important changes. Maybe if performance increased by 10-15% and memory usage was lowered by like 5-10% then it would most likely be worth it. Lets hope it's not a bug fix release like one of the previous CS releases (IIRC)...

For one, and this is a feature I've wanted for about two years now, they've integrated Smart Image Resizing. The image tweakers out there will remember this concept from 06 (or so) where you can stretch an image however you want and it will dynamically adapt and add relevant image data. This is some SHINY skit man...
Another feature that I find very nice is the Pre-Flight system. For designing purposes where you're on a time crunch, that is a
life saver

I remember hearing there was a program that was packaged with CS that did the resizing... not sure if it was "Smart" but I remember a customer (at Fry's) complaining that we didn't have it and I had no idea what they were talking about until I looked it up...
However, I don't remember the name of the program
