Stupidity killed the cat. Curiosity was framed

« on: May 07, 2008, 05:30:45 PM »

I had just started to get bluescreened every time I try to boot-up Maple Story.

it says: DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

can you please help me fix this!  There has just been a big update for it and I really want to play.

(I can't save up for my mac fast enough -_-)

Well, one piece of hardware is dying on you.  Anything else, like a specific file or .dll crashing?
Id update your video card driver.
Without knowing more, I can't give you much help.

One more question, does it run any other game?

Isn't that strange.... It fixed it's self.....  Oh well Tongue

Anyway, To answer your last question.  I can play certain games.  Meaning ones I can download from a site like Nexon or Outspark (the fact that they are free doesn't hurt either, lol) I do have a copy of Fable for the PC.  But the ground was white, and the water was yellow, I laughed my f***ing ass off when I played it.  Although I can play WoW, or at least the demo I tried.  The other games I played (In fact I'll make a pretty little list for you)

Sims 2
Sims Deluxe edition
Mabinogi beta (didn't go past the login screen, and now will not download)
Fiesta
Secret of the Solstice
FlyFF
a game by Gpotato i can't remember the name of

diagnosis?

Update your video card drivers.. or update your card.

If you see errors in visuals it is most probably card related, directly.

I had a similar thing happen to me when ever I try and play Guild Wars on the old (2003) family computer.  I'd be running round and then all of a sudden all of the ground would turn into white "sand" (I could see my foot prints).  At first I thought it was due to the fact that I had dial-up (*shivers at the thought*), but after I got broadband it still happened.  It was obviously the computer at that point and I reasoned that it was the video/graphics card at fault.  Considering the age of the machine (and that it's never been upgraded) I resined myself to waiting till it dies and we get a replacement.

It's hilarious when that happens.  I thought Fable for PC was different from the xbox version, so I thought it was snow, it wasn't until I saw the river of "pee" that I knew something was wrong, lol.   I couldn't move past the training grounds anyway.  Because I'd need a mouse with a center button, instead of my laptops mousepad.    But to the matter at hand.  How would I know what video card I have?  and how could I upgrade it.

I've had my share of BSoDs.

Are you still getting the error?  If so, what are the Hex numbers you get?  You usually see them next to the word STOP.

Found out the hard way that STOP 0x1, bluh, blah, blah, mean I have a bad memory module.

Generally, at the bottom of the BSOD, it lists a file of particular interest.  Use it.
