I was recently on the New Rock website and I came across this image on their website, advertising one of their shoe ranges. I recognised both of the characters immediately as ones that Hawk had drawn several years ago, and I'm worried that this may be a case of art theft on their part, and thought that this would be the best way to draw attention to it. As far as I can tell from the small image, they've also edited the original images to include the shoes they're advertising and the New Rock logo.

Here's the page I found the image:
http://www.newrock.es/dev/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=221&Itemid=259

Here's a screenshot of the image on the page (in case it gets taken down):

And here's the image itself:

I'm not sure what to do from here, which is why I'm posting on here so the forumites and perhaps even Hawk could find out and choose what to do.

The irony of the "Above all be original" slogan is just too funny for me.

Irony aside, its rather sad that this kind of thing keeps cropping up.

well, i am very on the side of the thinking that everything should be free, mostly knowledge, but still taking things without even saying is a bad thing

Tbh, theft is theft - no matter what the content or medium is.

Hawk puts his work online to show it others so they can enjoy it!
Not steal and use it for advertising to make money.

I think he was meaning that you should ask to use it first regardless of if it's free or not.

yeah, i meant that i won't ever do that because i know people would mind, but i don't mind when people use my work, but wheter it is free or not you MUST tell the original owner or maker before using it

That is absolutely ridiculous. Hawk shouldn't have to worry about, he should just have to worry about the his art.

i can hear the Cease and Desist order from here...  although, the website and store is not US based.  I'm not sure ow far the US Copyright law extends in these cases.
