Writer's Block

Okay, here's my problem I am having writer's block and I can't seem to get anywhere. I have the idea and the plot but everything else has shot craps in a matter of speaking. I am wanting it to become a small comic but the story is my problem. If anyone has any input please feel free to shoot it on the thread.

Whenever I get writer's block I start thinking about my characters. What drives them, motivates them, how they can be related to my main story. If I get in their heads, I can start to think like they would, and create a drive or motivation, and then I relate that to the plot.
The snowflake method also helps, to a certain degree. Start by writing your story in one general sentence. Then break that sentence down into 3 sentences, with more detail. Break that down into a paragraph. Break that paragraph down into a page. On and on. Example:
1. John must find Mary before time runs out and she dies.
2. Mary went missing, and John has to find her. She is dying because she got hurt and is possibly bleeding to death.
3. John lost contact with Mary when her cell phone died. She told him last that she was in the forest somewhere. John has to find her quickly before she dies, as she said she thinks she's bleeding quite a bit. Also, killer koalas with clown masks are stalking her through the woods. Bloodcurdling screams were heard before the phone died.
4. Mary is certainly screwed. She said she was attacked while getting drunk in the woods, and started calling a fallen tree log "Padre Ponchito." John is deathly afraid of koalas, but he does not know they are the offenders. Quite the courageous knight, John sets out in the dark towards the woods. He doesn't hear much until a sound slowly gets louder.
Scrape.... scrape... scrape...
A koala exits the forest into a clearing, dragging Mary's head behind it. It's glossy white coat is bloodstained. A second koala exits, dragging her dress, her right arm still tangled up in it. John hears a weak dial tone emanating from behind him. He turns, right in time to hear it get much louder as a koala with a cell phone in it's stomach latches onto his head and sucks out his left eyeball.
You get the idea. So don't steal mine.

Writer's block. Why do we always get one of those at most crucial times?
When I'm under the influence of the block I usually just freewrite on and one, measuring in time instead of pages. Simply choose something. Anything. The color of your floor for example. And then begin writing. I usually prefer writing with pen or pencil on paper since it doesn't restrict me to writing in words.
Once I get going I can write pages after pages of stuff, random lists and dialogues of people who doesn't exist living in places that doesn't exist. I can then either continue the pattern of thought and integrate it into whatever it is I'm writing or simply begin again in the context of what I'm supposed to write.

NO doubt! I finally over came the block and began writing my short story. Got a chapter of it done and bleh.....hit the block again only this time it was because I ran out of idea backing.

That's also an excellent writing exercise. My AP English teacher in highschool had us do this at least once a week. We'd sit down and start writing, and not stop for anything. We were not allowed to let our pens stop moving, which really let us get things out of our heads, even if we were making it up as we went, it helped me develop more ideas and let those ideas loose, which in turn helped ideas flow when I had an actually coherent idea.
