K, I heard this on the radio (like pop, rock, rap etc.. they play more than I'd care to listen to but there isn't much better) no more than a week ago.

The things I know about the song are:

"Let it rain here" or some variation ... but I know "rain here" is part of the verse... is sung quite a bit in the song.

Something about washing it all into the ocean?

The song kinda reminded me of AEnima by TOOL with the whole "flush it all away" theme from rain...

I don't know the name of the song or the artist, which is what I'm hoping one of you audiophiles can figure out for me. Cheesy

Yes I've googled, and yes I've scrounged through iTunes but I haven't found anything.

So is it the same pace as AEnima? or is it a different genre of song as it were.. lol.  i might know it.  but i gotta get a better beat on the way the song plays. wow. i just made a joke with the beat thing. hehe.

No, it doesn't have the same beat... the song isn't even really rock... maybe it is... I remember it having more of a techno/pop sound, but in the song they were talking about "flushing it all away" into the ocean.. which AEnima had the same verse somewhere in the song....

If I had more lyrics to go by I could probably identify it.

Sorry I can't help ... any idea who the vocalist sounds like?

I hate when that happens. One time I was desperately looking for a song, and all I could remember was some faint essence of the song and the word texas

turns out it was the butthole surfers. I found out a year later!

lol. All I remember is that it had a cool acoustic guitar loop and I think it was the second verse was about him driving around with his girl and then theres a drive by and she gets shot and killed and then he has to go to her funeral...

/revs up iTunes.

edit: No it isn't.  The guy sings slower, for one... two... there's like .. kind of a rain ambience-ish sound to it.

The song is more about rain than the ocean... it's talking about the everything washing out and away... but the verse about "Let it rain here" is sang very prominently in the song...

After searching a little more and thinking back... I THINK it is Ok Go - Let it Rain... but I haven't been able to find a full stream of the song so I can't say for sure, but what I have heard sounds reminiscent of what I heard.  I can't remember exactly of "Hallelujah" was sung ... but that's thanks to being forgetful.
