Well, I saw this movie last night. I really enjoy westerns. I really did like this movie but i did not think it was as good as "Open Range". Anyone else?

Saw it at a sneak preview last week. I thought it was really good with very strong acting by just about everyone, but it wasn't the best I've seen. Although, I did like it more than Open Range for some reason.

Still, I prefer Tombstone over all.

Isn't this movie a remake of an older movie or something like that?

The western died with John Wayne, every foray into the territory since has been roughly equal to digging up it's grave and spitting on the corpse.

John Wayne is my favorite western actor. I have more DVD's of John Wayne then any other actor. But their have been several great westerns since then.

Movies aside though the spirit of the old west has found a strong home in a few series over the years. Brisco County Jr. and Firefly spring to mind.

Just watched the movie. And it is very good. Not really a fan of Westerns but this one is an exception. Great character development, good action, dialog, and the acting was superb
