I take one month off and the Auction House prices completely scale back. Bah! Except of course Borean Leather... Anyone know how to reset Auctioneer data- or should I just reinstall it (so that my averages gathered from scanning the AH aren't unbalancing the new prices)?

Delete the SavedVariables file.

You should be able to find it in the WDB folder... or something...

I think it's like WDB, your account, and the addon .. or something ...

(currently drugged up on codeine... my perception has dwindled to that of a pinhead.)

Thanks! I closed the program, backed up my WTF folder (by simply renaming it '_WTF') and reentered the game. It automatically created a new WTF folder and I was able to start from scratch! Like I mentioned, I havn't played for a while, and was thinking of picking things back up again casually. I really enjoyed playing the auction house, so I'm going to try to build up some funds before I really get back into things. Anyone with any tips for AH?

Auctioneer is all you need, unless you want something to track funds, like profit and cost.

Just make sure to scan regularly so you don't have old data and then wonder why your stuff isn't selling...

My priest is 79 now... and halfway to epic flying training, just need a little more questing and farming for herbs or leather and I'll have it, I manage to get the 1k for CWF in two days by herbing and skinning everything I saw while questing in Zul'Drak (btw, Zul'Drak... fun area, the quests were enjoyable, moreso than Dragonblight or Boring Tundra)

I thought Dragonblight was an enjoyable zone, especially the Wrath Gate stuff at basically it's climax.  I know I would hate Borean Tundra after I ran around it on my rogue for my explorer achievement on my rogue...

Zul'Drak threw me for a loop though: All the original Troll cities were just instances (Zul' Gurub, Zul'Aman...)   Zul'Drak was MASSIVE.  It was awesome how massive it was.

Wrath gate is the only only enjoyable quest chain in Dragonblight though... the Keepers of Time one where you visit your future self is kinda cool but the Scourge quests in ZD are awesome... granted not as cool as Wrath gate, but close... however there are a bunch of other cool little bits in that area that I think as a whole, ZD quests > Dragonblight quests.  HOWEVER, if you were to compare a single ZD quest chain to the Wrath gate, Wrath gate would win.

Zul'Drak did something right though: the whole zone was supposed to appear chaotic and war torn, mainly due to the fact that a bunch of trolls did something very naughty with their gods to fight the Scourge at the expense of their own survival.  Also, the quest chain where you had to disguise yourself as a ghoul to kill that Scourge troll.....oh wow, that was win.

Any end-gamers taking gold-making seriously? How much do you make in say, a week and what are you doing to go about getting it?

JC.  Granted it takes a good bit of gold to get it to a point where it makes gold, but I got to a point on my shaman where I didn't have to do anything except spend an hour in IF buying saronite, figuring out which gems sold for the most, cut said gems, then put them on the AH and go do something else while they sold.  I did spend a lot of time flat broke though... there were a few times I had 5g waiting for gems to sell, but more often I'd be sitting around with 3k and nothing to do with.

Right now on my priest I have two gathering professions, doesn't make NEARLY as much gold but it's a stable income.

Also, get a profession that everyone can make use of, the problem with blacksmithing, engineering and tailoring is only certain types of classes can benefit from those professions, say your server has only 33% clothwearers, that's 33% of a market versus inscription, enchanting or JC where everyone can benefit, thus 100% market.  Inscription or alchemy are probly the easiest to level of those "all-can-benefit" professions due to herbs not being too pricy and you only need herbs and parchment or vials.

As an Engineer, I can only make money like three ways.

Sell the guns to hunters/warriors.

Sell the ammunition makers to hunters.

It's LAME!

Don't forget choppers.

I found a nifty little monye maker that I'm testng to see if it's worth it... if they sell, I'll have around 500g in profit.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40212

Discovered it on my druid, who is also a potion master.  The mats for one cost me around 3 or 4g, but selling one is worth around 10g, thus I bought a bunch of lichbloom, already had a bunch of pygmy oil and bought some imbued vials and made all that I could... I put them on the AH last night for 50g for 5.  /cross fingers.

I'm not exalted with the Horde Expedition yet, so no choppers for me until then.

I make more money selling deviate fishies than with Engineering, it's sad.  Although, pygmy oil is a good seller, but my server's price is hella low: only about 10g for a stack of 15-20, depending on the day.  But considering how fast I blow through them in Ulduar, it's no surprise why there's so many of them for so cheap x_x
