OMG  i just respeced prot after being holy for over a year.... and let me say. i like the change.

I want more info on Inscription. I want to see what that's all about and what it will be like. Death Knight should be interesting, but hopefully as they go along, they release more Hero Classes, cause just a Death Knight will be weird....course, it'll be weird to see a Tauren Death Knight.....lol

Seriously...I may have to work harder to lvl my shaman, im only lvl 50 and i still haven't gotten to outlands on my 56 warrior.

Dude, I'm totally considering dropping mining for Inscription.  Right now my shaman is JC/mining (woot draenei) ... and she makes a good deal of cash from it... but like... say if inscription fixed windfury for dual-wielding... or something along those lines.  I'll be... WOOT!

Oh yeah, and enhancement shamans are getting a huge buff in the expansion.  I'll post some pictures in a bit....(Edit: posted.)  We melee shamans might actually be able to challenge an elemental shaman in damage output, which would be a very nice change.

basically what that all does is... gives our shocks more damage.  As an enhancement shaman, I'm spamming stormstrike as much as possible, and sense I'm enhance... I have a major focus on str, AP and crit gear.... the only thing spell damage is my healing set or my new toy, [Hammer of the Naaru]...

Essentally, my stormstrike is kinda wasted on me cause the only extra damage is from stormstrike, but would be tons more beneficial to an elemental shaman or a boomkin (wrath or lightning, two of my element shaman friends have gotten like 4k-5k or 6k crits with stormstrike and chain lightning)

But my AP is around... 1100 unbuffed... receiving a percentage of spell damage based off of that... stormstrike won't be wasted anymore by me... and I'll be doing a shit-ton more damage...

Plus, mental quickness will actually have a purpose to spec into, as I'm 19/42/0 right now... and I have no use for mental quickness... I don't lose enough mana from spamming totems for the rogues or tanks (depending on the fight and what group I'm in.  Tanks love me for agility totem cause of the extra dodge, rogues love me for windfury and agility totem)  and if I get a spell crit, I get reduced mana cost from clearcasting, so yeah.  Mental quickness is a bullshit talent.  It's only worth putting the points into if you're fully enhancement, like around 45 points, but I can almost guarantee you'll get more use out of speccing into either elemental or resto, instead of 45+ points into enhancement...


It also brings up the question to me.... is two-handed maces and axes going to be baseline now?  cause that focused talent is in the same spot as two-handed weapons...

Hehe, it also helps that I'm the only raidable 70 shaman in the guild right now too, which will soon change cause we have two 68s ... close to 70 in the guild.... but as is, most mail gear goes to me.. >.> you'd think my dkp would be in the negative, but it isn't.  Not enough mail gear drops, and I'm not too big of a fan of picking up elemental gear, regardless if I can use it.  .... of course that didn't keep me from getting the Big Bad Wolf Head for healing gear... XD

Well, guessing you're a shaman... the expansion isn't out YET so you have time to enjoy your new spec and gear up for enhance if you plan to respec

I've always been enhance so I'm not "gearing for the spec" as all I'm doing is getting upgrades...

The shaman changes are coming out with patch 2.2 or 2.3, not sure on the ret pally changes though. So that's significantly before the expansion. Patch 2.2 was going to be last tuesday but they pushed it back.

And yes, 2-handed axes and maces will be trainable instead of talented.

The reason why I didn't think it was going to be patched was cause I checked, double checked and triple checked the patch notes to see if there were any changes pertaining to those... and I saw nothing... so my assumption was either a later patch or expansion, but considering how a lot of stuff is becoming expansion material, my assumption was the buff was going to be also...

Shaman

    * Earthbind Totem: This totem will no longer break Rogue stealth.
    * Earth Shield: It is no longer possible to Earth Shield two targets at the same time in the outdoor world.
    * Earth Shield is now canceled at logout.
    * Elemental Focus: The free spell triggered by a Lightning Overload will no longer consume this effect.
    * Flametongue Weapon: Damage lowered slightly on rank 6 so that it is never better than rank 7.
    * Focused Mind (Restoration) now reduces duration of Silence/Interrupt mechanics by 10/20/30%.
    * Lightning Shield: This ability will now work properly even when the Shaman is stunned, fleeing, or incapacitated.
    * Nature's Guardian: This ability can now trigger while the Shaman is sitting.
    * Totems: Totems that grant only friendly beneficial effects will no longer trigger attacks from neutral city guards.

Hero classes are nifty and the ability to change my spells would rock my socks off. But the biggest reasons that I would get this expansion is (1) the ability to change my hair and (2) to change my dance style. I REALLY hate the Macarena...
