I use http://netvibes.com/ to keep track of my RSS feeds for me. It's a nifty AJAX-based RSS aggregator that looks better than Google and Yahoo.

When trying to subscribe to http://www.applegeeks.com/rss/ using Netvibes, it gives me an error saying the feed is invalid. I suspect this is an issue with your feed rather than Netvibes, since I have about 35 other feeds subscribed just fine (including PA/CAD/VGC).

Hope you can figure out what's going on and fix it because there's a gaping hole in my "Comic Feeds" tab that I'd love to get filled Smiley

The feed validates so I don't know what's going on.

I use netvibes, too, and the same thing happens. Just wanted to put that out there so you know you're not going crazy. Netvibes is still kinda buggy - it being beta software, some other feeds don't show up as well - and some don't display properly (PA displays but it usually links to nothing or doesn't update as fast as it should).

Best to write to the Netvibe team and direct them to the AG feed, saying it is a valid feed, but isn't displaying.

Dropped them a line using their feedback form. Hopefully they'll figure it out!

I have the same problem, so I made a small experiment. I downloaded the current version of the rss feed, and placed it on another webserver. If I point netvibes to this static copy... it does work! So I think the xml in itself may not be the real problem. Like BatmanPPC said, the feed validates and can be understood by netvibes.

So, what's left? Netvibes indicates that the feed is invalid or not available. I don't have much insight on the way netvibes is working, but maybe that the rss feed is fetched from a netvibes server, and that this server is somehow blacklisted by AG or its network provider?

I'm using the Google RSS organizer and it's working great for me. It works because When I open my internet window, I get my mail, updates, and other RSS things with my handy google search bar. I don't think I will be changing.

I really wouldn't know how to fix your problem. :p

A little bit of sleuthing has led me to the exact error message.

Netvibes uses a feed proxy to pull the RSS feeds. It's in the form of http://www.netvibes.com/feedProxy.php?url=feedURL. If we take a look at http://www.netvibes.com/feedProxy.php?url=http://www.applegeeks.com/rss/ in Firefox's RSS parser, we see the error message that prevents Netvibes from adding you:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://www.netvibes.com/feedProxy.php?url=http://www.applegeeks.com/rss/
Line Number 1, Column 1:

^

When your RSS feed is being hit by the netvibes server, it doesn't get the RSS feed, it gets some garbage. I think nekura had the right idea - something is blocking Netvibes from getting your feed.

I switched to Tiny Tiny RSS [1] (installed on my root-Server) and have the some similar problem with the AG and AG Lite feed
Code:
    * Applegeeks - Comic (http://www.applegeeks.com/rss/?cat=comic): MagpieRSS: Failed to parse RSS file. (Empty document at line 1, column 1)
    * Applegeeks Lite (http://www.applegeeks.com/rss/?cat=lite): MagpieRSS: Failed to parse RSS file. (Empty document at line 1, column 1)
If a account would help you to debug the feed or to understand the problem a bit better just drop me a line and I'll send you a username and password.
