stone/rock/marble effects?

Hello, folks at CG!

I am designing a website for a friend who has a rock band, and she said that perhaps at stone-ish theme could be cool. She desires a clean looking site, and I have only the basic ideas for the layout, but I ask you the following to get inspiration:

• do you know of any tips or tutorials on how to make stone/marble effects in illustrator?
• do you know any sites that use a stone theme, from which I can get inspiration?
