What're your favorite fights in comics?

Alrighty, I'll get the ball rolling...

One of my all-time favorite fights in comics is when Taskmaster kicked the crap out of the Avengers without having to weaken or otherwise having to addle them. Bonus: He's a normal human!

Most beutiful thing ever!

See, because I'm old fashioned, i'd hav to say when Superman beat the tar out of President Lex Luthor (in his Kryptonite Powered Super Suit) in Superman/Batman #7.  Good fight!  If we were talking about comicbook-related fights, it'd be Superman vs. Darkseid/Braniac in the series finale of Justice League Unlimited or the Flash vs. Lex Luthor/Braniac in the second to last season finale of the same show!  Good stuff!

My favorite fight from Justice League would have to be Superman vs Captain Marvel (Shazam).

I had the original large sized comic of their fight. Superman killed Captain Marvel in that one. lol

I like to think the Superman vs. Captain Marvel fight was definitely in favor of Billy untill that pesky mind control was fried out of the kid's head with his own lightning bolt.  He just sat back and "shazam. shazam. shazam." very minimal effort and Supes was on his knees.

One of my favorite fights was between Dream and Lucifer in Sandman.  Dream, the incarnation of the simple idea of dreaming, longing, and all that jazz (and apparently the control for reality, the balance of it) just comes back from being imprisioned by a man trying to capture his sister Death (Neil Gaiman is a great writer ... when I die, I want his Death to come knocking on my door) but mistakenly imprisions Dream.  He needs to reclaim his old possessions to get a nice momentium to his previous power level, instead of a blazing war Dream got what he needed by saying, "What would hell be if those imprisioned here cannot dream of heaven?" (paraphrasing)

... and then his family tells him it was a shit thing to do to damn a woman to hell for not loving him.  So, he goes to hell to get the girl, but he knows he's too weak to put up a decent fight and says something to the effect that he's going to fight the second strongest being in existance.  (the big God being number 1, not Dream) and when he gets ready to actually go toe-to-toe with Lucifer, the guy hands him the key and says, "I'm done, dude (obvious paraphrasing), I don't wanna fight you.  Here, take the keys to hell, it's yours, I let your girl go (demons took her, though, but that's not Lucifer's thing anymore, he just quit), I'm out."

Not really a comic book "fight" but it's really difficult to find very solid comic book brawls.  If it was my favorite animated fight -- I'd have a long list for you -- but restraining it the medium of comics, I think the war of words holds more power than a war of fists.

I think my favorite fight in a comic would have to be Colossus vs. Juggernaut. Can't remember what issue, but they got down an' dirty. Started fighting in a bar...went to the streets, tearin up buildings. It was mad crazy.

Young Avengers vs. Kang the Conquerer. Never have I seen a villian have no qualms about killing (or attempting to) children. In the end, the last page of issue #5 was so memorable. Everything about that issue was amazing. It's still one of my favourite issues to date.

Another one was Runaways, volume 1 #18. When the Runaways went against their own parents? It was amazing.

Sorry, just felt like it needed to be said Wink

To stay on topic another fight!
Ultimate Spider-man vs. the Kingpin (super early in the series)
the fight wasn't all that earth shattering, but it was the spidey I love ...
during introductions ... Spidey and the Kingpin start off but spidey holds up the impending fight and pulls notebook paper out of his backpack.

Spidey: "there are all kinds of things I wanted to say to you and I was afraid I was going to forget to say them ... and I really wanted to remember to tell you these things because they are really important to me.   OK.  Here goes ... You are so fat -- that when you cut yourself shaving marshmallow fluff comes out.  No? OK.  How about this one.  You are so fat that your highschool yearbook photo was taken from a helicopter.  Ooh -- tough room.  OK.  How about you're so fat that when you get on a scale is says: one at a time."

Then for some reason, Fisk goes into a mad rampage and spidey just hops around him saying more jokes Cheesy

That's awesome! I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

Another fight was Phoenix Endsong, where the X-men fight Phoenix in the artic. Everyone there is just all "Must stop the Phoenix", and Jean Grey is like like, "Pfft, noobs" and nearly kills them all in a single blast. Which brings up the question: how do you destroy life itself?

damn, i was gonna say that too
but then, Sandman isn't really a comic - it's literature through the medium of images. it's the shakespeare of comics. so kinda unfair to include it in any comparisons with normal comics

"NoOO my CAR!! I only had 236 payments left!"(Not an exact quote as I don't have the comic on me but damn that's funny)
Plus he turns Rhino into a super keychain!  Try and tell me THAT'S not the shit!

In Ultimate Spiderman. When Spidey fights Osborn just after the big lug tossed MJ off the bridge. Osborn's looking for Peter and previously mentioned comes swinging out of a blind corner shouting: "Don't worry slappy! I'm not going anywhere!"
