I thinks it's funny for me though. But with Hawk's modernistic styles I am curious what comes out of his hands and pencils if he tries street art. For all we know he could be making hip hop cover album art after graduation for 50k a pop.
I can see it now, Mac Daddies covered in Spikey power symbol tattoos and black doorags with the power symbol on the middle and every body has a Teh_ prefix to their names.
mwahaha! I love the idea of that making a lot of money

An old friend of mine did t-shirts and album cover design for a couple of no-name bands like Korn and Papa Roach (his Korn album was the insane asylum one from the contest -- didn't get paid for it, just won a contest). He didn't make his living with his pencil ... that's what the gas station helped him with, employment.
Although, Papa Roach sent him a gold record of one of their albums for his art. Looked neat, didn't put too much grub on the table. He actually had a huge problem with trying to find a fair price for what he was selling. He was trying to figure how much to sell his work professionally, but still being pretty cheap to get his name out and about.
The alias Blackgumz probably isn't well known (he did make my alias: dough -- pretty simple, Doug H. is my actual name

) and he had a good run about it ... the term "starving artist" applies to a lot of great talent.
