Try to cool off, guys ... everyone has their own opinion.

And don't think you'll be insulting us if you call us juvenile. ^_^; I'd admit that we are, from time to time.

Well about that...

Also, for the entire month of December, I will be donating all of my profits from any CAD merchandise to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude's enormous operating costs are covered in large part by donations from people like you and I. Not only do they treat and care for children with cancer and serious illness, but they are on the cutting edge of medical research to try and cure and prevent these horrible diseases.

like i said, i don't read his posts.

Well first of all I'd like to say that famous cliche that my english teacher would hit me over the head for using.

"To each his own"

I agree with Ananth, everyone has his/her own opinion, no one is right about CAD and no one is wrong. As for me I enjoy it, but thats me and I don't really give a care what others think about it because I enjoy it. And I plan on paying the 15 dollars for a year, its really not that bad of a price. As for those who are worried about the qualitly, I think that its really good qualitly, based on the trailer. www.cad-animation.com And too those who think that he is doing this for profit, I believe you are wrong. The reason why he is charging is because he hired professional voice actors (out of 1400 auditions) and a professional animation studio. They cost money. Therefore, we have to pay. That also tells you that the qualitly should be up to par.

And even if he was doing it for a profit, what in the world is wrong with that? What is so wrong about making money doing something you love? What do people have againist that? I really don't understand that logic at all. As a fellow artist, I think its absolutely wonderful that some one like an independant webcomic artist can make money enough to live off of his comic and STILL have it for free on the web. Artists are constantly struggling and complaining about how they can't make money off of what they love to do...yet...when one does...the public and even fellow artists put that down. I think it's terriable.

Over all, I think that CAD going animated is a very big step in the webcomic relm and perhaps will start a movement and we will see others follow that same path. Wheather you like CAD or not, this is something we should all clap for.

I never said tere was anything wrong with it. It's just not my speed. There's plenty of gamer comics out there, most of which have far better humor & writing.

If PA or AG did the whole animated thing? I'd pay $15 a month for either of those two.

CAD?

Pfff. Pass.

Like I said I'm not a fan of CAD, but as a creative professional I do have to say this:

So what if he's doing it for the money? Are people not allowed to make money or a living off of their creative properties?

Anyway as for why I don't like CAD, it's that I'm not a gamer. From what I've seen Tim doesn't really try to reach out to a larger audience, and that's fine there are a TON of gamers out there who enjoy his comic.

In closing: Big step for CAD, and webcomics in general, I hope it does well, and I hope it gets webcomics as a whole more recognition.

I concour, riff13.
Lots of web-based entertainment has ways to support the creators. RvB has premium membership (hi-res episodes) and DVDs. Ill Will Press even releases DVDs. And everyone sells clothing (well, not AG anymore. But just wait!)

So if you like something enough to do that, do it. If not, don't. Just don't try to tell me what I like or dislike.

I like CAD, but from what I saw of the trailer, the animated series really doesn't look that great.

I never saw what people got with PA. It just bores me, but if we're on webcomic plugging, PVP rocks.

So, nah, I won't pay for a CAD animated series.
