Thanks, and I've seen that one, but I'd heard that there was a picture out there of him standing up.  Is this true, or was the picture on the trailer the picture that everyone was asked to remove?

The picture of him on his face is the one that Paramount has been asking to be removed. The only animated anything of a transformer standing that is offical is in the trailer. I have not heard of any other picture being removed. Early on the first ones of the cars were asked to be taken down. but they are still up.

the full version of bumblebee expanded looks a bit too cartoony/goofy to me(almost like something of a Power Rangers bad guy...), not serious enough, but my hopes are that the SFX team will add a more battleworn, serious, and dangerous look to it all. Of course, coupled with hissing, mechanical transforming sounds, it could end up being just plain badass.

Maybe Mars was one stop along the way to Earth... i don't know though, good question. Maybe the Arc is on Mars... the arc and nemesis crash landed on Mars, with the mars exploration waking the bots? Guess we will find out. I'm not too worried by the changes... Michael Bay just better not totally f this up.

In the T.V. Show and the comic books The Arc and the Nemesis had a space battle before crashing to earth. The Arc in Organ and the Nemesis in the ocean (i believe). But during the space battle the Arc suffered a painful blow breaching it's hull allowing the Decepticons to board the Arc. It is very posable a Decepticon or an Autobot fell out, got thrown out, shot how (whatever) of the breach in the hull and ended up on mars?

Who knows how the story will be changed. It appears from all i have read they are trying to follow the comic book story live over the TV show story line. But i have nothing to back that up.

What's the difference in the two? I never read the comic books

Their are aspects of the comic and TV show that kind of touched on each other. The idea was the same: "Lets get back home to cyberton" But in the coimc book world their where cross overs with spider man (issue 3) and GI-Joe along with others.

The comic book would follow lesser seen charaters on the T.V. and some times go in to much greater side stores and suplots. (This is all relitive mind you. Both the T. V. Show and comic where orginaly made to sell toys.)

The comic talks a lot more more and shows a lot more about cyberton and the life before crash landing on earth. The comic book goes in to more depth (all be it still is a mystery) about how cyberton was founded and how the first transformers where built and be came living robots with feelings and emotion.

Quote
Four million years ago, on a distant planet called Cybertron, life existed in the form of sentient robots which could think and feel, called Transformers. The race of Transformers was divided into two main clans. Autobots (Known as Cybertrons in the Japanese cartoon), led by Optimus Prime, wished for peaceful co-existence between everyone. Decepticons, under the command of Megatron, sought conflict and military conquest. Both sides were embroilled in an ages old war for supremacy.

With both sides running low on energy, the Autobots, aboard the Ark, sought out a new source, but the Decepticons, aboard the Nemesis, ambushed them in hopes of gaining a decisive advantage. The ensuing space battle resulted in both the ships crash landing on a pre-historic Earth, the Ark crashing into the side of a dormant volcano, and the Nemesis crashing in a remote region of South America.

The actuall landing spot/location of the Nemesis his some what debated still

COMIC
Quote
The Autobots and Decepticons land on Earth via the Ark, paralleling the cartoon. The Autobots are reformatted by the Ark to resemble cars and trucks; the Decepticons take the form of jets, weapons or in the case of Soundwave, a cassette deck with tapes.

The Decepticons wreak havoc, steal energy and build a fortress. The Autobots, seen here as very weak underdogs, unsuited for war, fight valiantly to stop their foes.

Ultimately, it's the humans that the Autobots befriend that save the day. Buster Witwicky's dad, captured by the Decepticons to formulate a fuel for them, secretly poisons his captors.

In the final battle, five Autobots take on the entire Decepticon army. On the cusp of defeat, the tainted fuel concocted by Mr. Witwicky kicks in and the Decepticons fall.

The Autobots don't even have time to celebrate however as the 4-part mini-series ends with Shockwave making an appearance at the end, blowing the remaining Autobots to pieces, and thus beginning the run of monthly Marvel comics.

SUM UP
Quote
Starting with issue 5 (cover-dated June, 1985), Transformers had more drastic changes. Before reaching its 30th issue, both Optimus Prime and Megatron had been killed off to make way for newer characters.

Starting in issue 35 (cover-dated December, 1987), the events became less Earth-centric, as the Transformers got their spacecraft working and were able to revisit their homeworld Cybertron and other planets. This aspect was particularly prominent in the Matrix Quest sub-plot.

In issue 75 (cover-dated February, 1991), the Autobots and Decepticons had united under one banner after Autobot commander Optimus Prime surrendered to Scorponok, in order to end their civil war. United, they finally faced their ancient nemesis: Unicron. The Transformers won, but with heavy losses, including the deaths of Scorponok and Optimus Prime (again). Peace between the two Transformers factions was shortlived after Unicron's death. Bludgeon, the new Decepticon leader, tried to strand the Autobots on Cybertron, which was apparently destroying itself. His plan failed and the final confrontation between the two factions played out, with the Autobots lead again by Grimlock. Optimus Prime is united with Hi-Q (his Powermaster) and given life by The Last Autobot. He returns to battle to save the Autobots and then exiles the Decepticons forever (until Transformers: Generation 2). After the battle for Unicron, the comic ran for only five issues before being cancelled. The final issue had the mini series banner above the title; "#80 IN A FOUR ISSUE LIMITED SERIES".

Optimus Prime should be an X-men, he qualifies by the amount of times he's come back to life.

Anyways, thanks for that Nicap, much appreciated as always  Grin

I am still trying to figure out how the shadow looking thing qualifies as a transformer though. The plot line seems alittle bit off to me.
