Transformers- that pesky greenlight looks like it is coming. Any Damn Minute. If you read the Hollywood papers, Dreamworks and Paramount have been merging and shit, so this delayed us an extra week. Probably no big deal in the long run.

I should tell you all that the Cullen/Welker thing is far from a done deal. I spoke to some Dreamworks execs last week long distance and they really think the old voices link our new movie to old things. I disagree. I know you do too. It will be Michael Bay's decision. When I prepare my report to him about this very subject I will let you know. I believe this is the ONLY thing the fanbase is in agreement with. And before reporting this as news, like a lame site like Cinescape might do, be advised- NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE YET about the voice actors, EITHER WAY.

"Activision's confirmed an MCV report from last month that it's picked up the rights to the new Transformers movie, which sounds like it's going to be the most horrific assault on my childhood since somebody threw a stick between the spokes of my back wheel while I was cycling next to a river full of crocodiles aged 12.

The US publisher had previously pooh-poohed the suggestion that it was working on the game with one of those testy "can't comment on rumour or speculation" responses; speaking to investors last night after announcing its latest financials, it changed its tune and said it had in fact acquired the rights. A game's due out around the same time as the film - next summer. Platforms TBC.

Meanwhile the film, which has yet to receive a proper title, is being directed by Michael Bay and will therefore be awful, probably with interesting sounding but ultimately rubbish celebrity voice matches like, I dunno, Yeardley Smith as Starscream or something. It certainly won't have Scatman Crothers, Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Orson Welles so quite why they're bothering is anyone's guess.

Equally on the game front there's plenty to live up to - Atari Melbourne House's Transformers PS2 game of t'other year was difficult, but also incredibly gorgeous, cleverly put together and ultimately very entertaining despite a few niggling flaws. If Activision reckons it can top that level where you assault the inside of an aircraft carrier then it transforms and you have to fight it on the beach - crying every time it kicks you five hundred feet into the surf because the camera hates you - then good luck to 'em."

Roberto Orci, a member of the writing team for the upcoming Transformers Live Action Movie, has thrown out a morsel of news over at the Don Murphy Message Board. He has confirmed that Soundwave will not be a Helicopter.

Michael Bay, Director of the Upcoming Transformers Live Action Movie, has spoken in a most recent entry on his Website forums about the upcoming Transformers movie. Tidbits about Original Voices, the Military, and more. Here is what he had to say.

"The prep for the movie is going well. The military looks like it is going to support the film which is a big deal in giving the movie scope and credibility. The Pentagon has always been great with me because I make our military look good.

All the posts and talk about the original voices --- could we just let it rest for a while? I heard everyone, I'm thinking about it. We are reinventing how the robots look, transform and move - Remember these are the most realistic Transformers you will have ever seen. They have to fit completely into the human world to make this live action film credible. I have shown the animatics and some of the hundreds of drawings - TO THE MOST RELIGIOUS OF FANS - they tell me they are "mind-blowing" and "take it to a level they never considered" - I guess that's good? Time will tell.

Believe me I respect the fans. But I just want you to give me a chance because I'm working with some really talented artists to create this vision. But it is a vision that allows for growth, change, improvement and surprises. Looking back at the history of Transformers, remember there has been tons of change and improvements over the years.

I'm working on third act action, and if you could - what would you imagine for great robot action?

Hello Transfans......sorry for my absence lately....movie has been extremely busy...
A few tidbits for you from my side....
several major locations now selected.......set construction should start in about 2 weeks.....casting now beginning....first vehicles already in our shop.......many designs now complete......

I was up all of last night doin animation on my laptop so I stuck on Transformers: the movie (cartoon) and I cant tell you how good it was
