I spent literally countless hours on d2. That game was seriously addicting. It was nice, though, because I was getting paid to play it. Kinda... Used to sell stuff on eBay through my dad's account. Untill all the pindlebots started... And talking about bots. There were some SERIOUS hacking issues with that game. Dupes and what not. I'm talking about Battle.net, of course, hardcore mode (die once and lose your character permanently). Being able to lose something you worked tens of hours for in less than a second (msle, bad portals etc) was way exciting. "x has been slayed. Your deeds of valor will be remembered." Those words stung so hard. "Oops, you died. Too bad, go start another character."

i never really got into all those hardcore characters because of the ppl that would wp kill you... like the lvl 76 javazons.. god that pissed me off

I will continue to play that game until my fingers fall off. I dont care if it's basically the same monster over and over again. The powers looked cool, the story was one of the greatest I ever heard for an rpg, and the skill tree that was used to customize your characters skills is still used in even lesser games. Diablo 2 may be a simple point and click game but damn it if it wasn't a damn good point and click game. Personally, I never played online. Too many hackers and hickups. The lag made the game feel just plain retarded. Offline was my main method and I still had fun switching from Amazon to Necromancer to Assassin. It is in my opinion one of the greatest RPG's ever made right there with The Legend of Dragoon and Final Fantasy 7.

Never cared much for the first Diablo nor the sequel when it eventually came out.

It always seemed to have a cool story before it initially came out, but once I sat down to actually play it I just couldn't get into it like i thought I could.

Blizzard really needs to get off their ass and make a few more sequels.

Whatever happened to SC:G, anyway? I'm waiting for Starcraft II...and if they ever make it, I really, really hope there'll be no unit cap. Stupid Warcraft III and its tiny armies. I want epic battles, trojan war style!

And maybe some scale issues fixed. When a battlecrusier flies over, I want the whole screen to darken, damnit!

As for Diablo II - I played it through with a sorceress and then a barbarian, but I never really got into the whole RPG thing.

To be honest I think Neverwinter Nights is a whole lot better as far as Online RPG's go. Its got more classes, better graphics and I just generally prefer it. Yeh I know its newer, and sure its easy as hell to cheat by making your own custom Items on Aurora Editor. But it can be fun.... Except when certain people who've worked their ass off to reach level 18 in order to enter the portal to Morag, only to be glitched and unable to continue their character!
