Most likely a one-off problem. The possibilities are:

- one-off
- faulty unit
- corrupt song file

If it only happens on that one song, then it's the song, otherwise faulty unit

Thunderstruck, settle down.

My iPod froze a couple times since buying it, and the soft-reset (Menu+Center) worked fine.

I've only had my iPod freeze once.  But when it did, the soft-reset didn't work.  I discovered, however, that if you run the battery dry, then fully recharge it, it works fine.  If the soft-reset doesn't work, then try that.

I'm not having that kind of attitude in my forums, consider this a warning.

An iPod lock-up does happen occasionally. It is no big deal. There is a hardware watchdog that watches the keys for the reset combination, so even if the iPod is completely locked up it can still be reset. In this sense, it is not a true soft reset.

Of course, there is always that thing called technical support... as well as http://support.apple.com if you are still having trouble.

I've noticed that the windows formatted iPod seem to be a bit more unstable than the mac formatted ones. Just an observation.

Woo hoo! Another issue sorted by the Applegeeks forums.

I guess the name of the forum does kinda invite queries like this.

Just to point out, I think Thunderstruck was being sarcastic to talse's liberal use of the 4 letter word in question. I don't think it was meant to be a flame.
