Ah, Nabil, you are a smart boy...

iTunes does WAY more than the music store. I use it exclusively now and have never TOUCHED the store.
especially as I said on a campus intranet - anyone can share their music on the iTunes network and anyone else can listen to whatever they want just not copy it to their computer (with the actual iTunes program, at least.......) and it's great - I've got about 45 people's music libraries accessible to me. And, it's LEGAL.

I've been with it since the version one beta. Also, never touched the store.

You know you can mount the shared folders of windows xp users? And usualy the music folder is hsared by default. They'll never even realize what you're doing.

I won a song the other day!

There were about 100 normal bottles of Pepsi and ONE with the yellow iTunes cap.... i bought that one and won! :-D

I browsed the music store for a while.... definitely when i get money I'll be spending it there. Smiley

Yeah but I think he meant less than, because Vanilla coke is like drinking carbonated vanilla extract (ie crap) and normal Pepsi tastes better than Vanilla coke. I haven't tried Pepsi max though.

I dont run iTunes, infact i've made a point of not using it. However to the best of my understand its a system whereby you pay for and download mp3s, right? Thats not what i'm interested in for the internet. I like free stuff.

If you don't want to use iTunes, that's your choice.  You clearly haven't done any research whatsoever into what you are talking about.  Again, your choice what you bother learning more about.  But don't sit around and talk about how evil it is when you HAVEN'T bothered learning about it.

I am opposed to the practices of the RIAA.  I disagree with the extortionary pricing, and the miniscule percentage that actually goes to the people who wrote and performed those songs.  I like free stuff as much as the next person.  But sitting around and griping about having to pay ANYTHING for music is being nothing more than a whiny bitch.  It costs time, effort, and money to produce music (or anything creative), and to not be willing to pay a FAIR (ie not overinflated) price for that product is flat out WRONG.

THINK about what you're saying.  Are you saying that if someone took a painting that you'd worked on for months to complete, took it and put it on their wall and started making lithographs of it, all without permission or compensation, you wouldn't be the least bit pissed?

A music store with Apple’s legendary ease of use, offering a hassle-free way to preview, buy and download music online quickly and easily, the iTunes Music Store has virtually every category of music to choose from.

Ok, there's my research. You're right, I didnt check, and you're right, thats my choice. Now i've checked... and iTunes is, as well as apparently being a media player, also a store for legal mp3s, as I previously assumed. If i've got the wrong end of the stick, please tell me so.

You dont have any place to tell me whats "wrong", man. I've thought long and hard about this, and about your example: well, how much money do I make from that painting? and how much money are those lithographiers making from it? Because if they're making money off my work, of-course i'm going to want compensation! However, if I was to make thousands of dollars from my creative work and a bunch of people decided to photocopy my work and stick it on their walls.. see if I give a shit! i'm rich! They can photocopy as much as they want!

Look, right now, I can get music for free. I prefer that to paying for it. I dont buy the RIAA's lies in their attempt to control the internet. Thats why I hate this advert. Cool?

Technically it's a media player with a store added in later on. Unless there was a store from the beginning. I like the way it organizes my mp3s I've got over 600 mp3s (and of course all these come from cds that I actually own) and it sorts them into folders and has that cool search utilitie that allows me to type in a few lettersand it brings up some songs. I had iTunes for awhile before I even knew there was a store... and since I skinned my iTunes to look like the mac version iTunes I don't have all my option thingys and can't turn my music store on. The browser is really cool, I can search by Genre, Artist and Album. Oh oh oh, plus the radio stations and the feature that allows me to add other radio stations. Not very good on 56k though. It also makes burning cds very easy, make a playlist and click burn and you've got an audio cd. My tech teacher has a G5 and he has a 120 Gb Harddrive filled completely with mp3s - he owns 20,000 cds... he's kind of a music freak. He says that he's able to scroll through those songs without any lag at all.

Nice... TBH man, I cant imagine it being better than Winamp 5. Winamp TV kicks my ass, the radio selection is excellent, its pretty much flawless by now.. and has plugins for EVERYTHING.

I was watching a Radiohead interview on MTV2 today, and Thom Yorke was attacking the RIAA. He's a good man, that Thom, a real badass. I saw them live, he was singing "you and who's army", and this guy next to me was screaming "CMON THEN YA SKINNY BASTARD I'LL TAKE YA ON!!". True story.
