O-kay, here's the deal. I'm all set to buy one of the new 27-inch iMacs, with Logic Express 9 preloaded onto it (yay, scholarship money!). Despite the fact that the kind folks at the Apple store told me that the recording quality was fine, even without a true sound card in the computer, I'm a little wary. Thus, I want to get a good audio interface for guitar, bass and vocals.

The M-Audio FastTrack looks pretty good for the price, but the reviews didn't speak well of it, and it uses a USB port for transfer. Ideally, I'd like something with FireWire, to prevent latency and preserve quality, but the Apogee Duet is irritatingly expensive. Could you guys give me some ideas for a reliable, fast, low-latency recording interface, between $100-250?

Thanks.
