I tried google but to no avail. What I was searching for was a way to color in explosions in drawings, For comics or posters & stuff. Can anyone help?

I would try to color it using hot colors like yellow, orange and red, in the center i would use a strong red, in the middle a warm orange and in the edge a warm yellow, with a lot of  expression lines and a dark background because of the excess of light in the explosion, i wouldn't make any soft transition or anything, to make the transition i would use the lines of the drawing
