I'm about to take the leap and buy Photoshop, but I want to know what version to use.  I'm on a bit of a budget, but money isn't really the biggest factor, it just means I can't go out and spend a thousand dollars on a program that doesn't help me make money.  I just want this to have fun and be able to goof around and make pictures, but I'm not a skilled computer artist.  I'm swimming in a thousand versions of Photoshop to choose from, and I wanted advise from the source.  Anyway, what do you guys think I, a Mac man who's gonna use it for kicks and siggys, should get?

I would go for photoshop CS$ or CS·, they are the latest versions so they have all the things the previous versins have and new things, besides they are very stable and they work pretty good, and the workspace improved a lot

May want to let go of the shift key when typing numbers ; ).

$ = 4 and · = ?, most likely 3. There is CS4E, with the E standing for extended just to confuse the crap out of you even more than normal with their different versions and suites. Grin

Hopefully it's fixed in CS5, since they do proclaim it has a redesigned brush section.

CS% is awsome for tablets, MANY options for brushes and painting, and as far as i have worked with it, it works perfect and has no bugs Smiley
