I was looking into buying a pair of headphones for use with my iPod and laptop. I'm considering these. But I'm not sure, and I haven't looked around the market lately. It would be great if someone could give me a few suggestions, thanks.

My only suggestion is to stay away from noise-cancelling models. Most have really, really poor sound quality in general, except for the kind that run $300+.

Look up Sennheisers. They have really good sound quality in most if not all their lines

The Sennheiser HD 650 headphones look amazing. I might purchase a pair once I can afford the high price tag. That won't be for a couple more paychecks though. Tis the shame of being a full-time student/part-time worker.

I purchased the headphones that Apple uses in it's stores for people to try out the iPods.

Bose is awesome.

That is all.

(In my experience, their products put out AMAZING sound... bass or guitar strings never sounded clearer or more sweet to the ears...)

The thing that sucks for me though, is I can't wear around the ear headphones cause of glasses, so I'm stuck with around the head or earbuds... but I'm not totally complaining.

Bose is ALWAYS a great choice!  i had a pair of Triports (before some douche kinked the cable and put a short in them) and those were by far my favourite pair of headphones EVER!

Skullcandy is pretty good too I'd say.  I really like the quality of my Hesh heaphones.  They're significantly not Triports but you get what you pay for, right?

I 2nd the comment on noise canceling taking away sound quality.  I have a pair of noise canceling Sony earbuds.  They do an amazing job of keeping out the din but the sound quality is sub-par.

I tend to stick with ear buds, but were I to recommend headphones, I'd say SkullCandy are a great choice, even if they may not be the quality of Bose, they are a fraction of the cost - and the look is pure \m/

I like Shure.

I've had a pair of low-end Shure earbuds for nearly two years... and they've never failed me.

Bose puts out better sound, for sure, but the little comfort earbud sleeve things fall off too easily and I lost all of them, thus making my Bose earbuds useless because ... well putting them without sleeves it feels like putting safety pins in my ears to listen to music.

To my knowledge, Shure had been in the earbud business longer than Bose, so while Bose probly made an amateur mistake, Shure didn't... the sleeves don't fall off and they still put out pretty good sound.

I actually had the same issue with my Bose in-ear headphones. I purchased a new pair recently, however, and they've since revamped them. The sleeves now have a hook on them, or something like that, so the comfort sleeves don't fall off. They've done a few other things to make them work better, so I have a feeling they got a few of those complaints and decided to fix them. Since that change, I've had no real complaints about mine.

I may have to have a friend that still works at Fry's buy me a pair... I miss Fry's ridiculous employee discount >.>

Shure, Sennheiser (sp?) and Bose. Get nothing but one of these.

I have an old-ish pair of Shures, work and sound great and block all sound despite just being normal in-ear headphones with no noise canceling extras.

My newer Bose ones block pretty much all sound as well and have unbelievable sound quality. Highly recommended. Although I may be somewhat biased since I had a pair before them that covered your ears rather than sat on them. ^^

I use Bose at my work, and I gotta say, I FREAKING HATE THEM!
They are not that good, and when you turn on the "noise canceling" feature everything gets all fuzzy and lame.  Every time I go to work, if there's a set of old ass Dave Clarke's I take those instead of Bose.
I personally use Skull Candy Hesh when I want good sound.
Kenwood used to make REALLY good DJ style headphones but I haven't checked them out lately.
Now that Bose is all popular and become a house hold name, their quality has started to go downhill and you're mostly paying FOR the name. (IMHO)
