The big comic will be up either tonight or tomorrow night. I was out most of yesterday with my family.

It is true. I am finally watching Avatar The Last Airbender. Yeah I know I’m late but I’m finally watching it right? So far I love it. The story just pulls you in, as it gets deeper. I’m currently half way through book 2.

I just love saying Yip Yip now.

All those bending power is based on real kung fu techniques. At least i know waterbending is based on tai chi cause I recognize the moves.

Yes I believe that Earth bending is based on Hung Gar as well.

Appa is the best! Season 3, episode 19: “Nightmares and Daydreams” has got to be one of the best episodes ever. Glad you like it though, just in time to get on board for the movie this summer! (“Last Airbender” by M. Night Shyamalan)

Toph’s my favorite, after she get’s out of the brat stage. If your watching the DVDs, I know that in the special features of the first season the creators demonstrate how the bending styles are based on different fighting styles like b0b3r said.

I left you with a link, but don’t open it till you get to season 3’s “The headband.” It’s this inside-joke that avatar fans have made one of sokka’s “characters” into a chuck norris joke. I find it hysterical. Also that episode shows Aang using the kung-fu his bending is based on as it really is in reality. Pretty cool stuff. I love this series.
Not sure if I’ll love the movie condensing three seasons of excellence into six or so hours.

It’s kinda funny, I only just started watching this series myself, after a lot of my friends recommended it. I *cough* format-shifted it *cough* to my iPhone, and have been watching it on the train :3

Yay, another fan! Just wait until book 3. The final four episodes are some of the most awesome I’ve ever seen on an animated TV series.

yay! This comic made me laugh so hard because friends of mine were so into that show they kept trying to bend things…and failing. Thankfully no one ever set anyone else on fire!!

Avatar The Last Airbender is a show that is way more awesome than it has any rite to be lol. And the finale can be summed up in one word: Epic.

No. Just… NO. The writers break all this awesome story building and heavy foreshadowing to stick with Canon. Really bugged me how it ended. There again, action scenes were, and (hopefully) will continue to be, as you say, epic.

Also, to the person below, I have to say, the puppet master technique? Pretty f*cked up. But I mean, seriously. Creator’s got lazy with the extent of powers. Might have something to do with keeping it a pg show. (my thought is to use water bending to exsanguiate opponents. Course, team Aang isn’t allowed to kill anyone ever… or even really wound anyone for that matter… :/

Avatar was/is epic. Woulda been better if it was made for teens instead of little kids. Er… geared toward teens, rather.

That’s a ridiculous assertion, they can kill, just so long as it’s off screen. Think about what happened to all of those fire nation soldiers in their blimps. I assure you, it wasn’t pretty.

Those are some of the scariest fictional kids ever. The absolutely most terrifying is Katara after the last season one of the techniques she learns is simply blood-curdling.

You think that’s scary? Think of the porn this show might inspire.

It’s cool that you got around to watching it. It’s just about the only show besides Naruto that my older brother watches on a regular. I think Avatar and Jones soda kinda sum up his life. Oh, and chemical engineering.

If you enjoyed Avatar, check out Wakfu (the animated series, not the game). It’s being done by Ankama, and is animated completely in flash.

The original eps are French, but there is a fansub going, check my url for the centralized wiki.

Quite good, I thoroughly enjoy it. The production value is very high for an animated series.
