I’m the mastermind behind these two comics this time around. The D.C area was hit by a snowstorm over the weekend.
Here is a panorama shot of my street.
Photos from my iphone.

Comes to Quebec! For me this looks like business as usual.
This is a regular snowfall up here!
Jeebus! You guys got hit hard!
Ha! Try coming to Alberta! oh you’ll have fun.
I don’t know that it’s at all possible for you to comprehend my jealousy levels. That is exactly what I wanted for Christmas :-/
much agreement here, all i got is ice and thats nouse to anyone!
Why is it that you North Americans think you can hoard all of the snow. Is very rude. Some of us only get a light sprinkling once every few years that doesn’t settle, very rude.
Just wanted to know what resolution you draw on your cintiq. I’m just getting into the digital stuff and I noticed your art seems to have a cleaner line when you draw. I aslo would like you to check out the site I created for a strip a friend of mine and I are doing and would like your professional opinion. http://www.redwood-and-friends.com
drool, I must be on the wrong side of the planet
have to work in the kitchen when its 39c or 102.2f
You should try coming to norway. =)
If you miss the snow Hawk, just come up to central New York. From Buffalo to Utica up to Watertown there’s plenty for you to shovel. Well not yet, give us a month.
Snowboobies & Iron Man daydreams. This is so Bizarro Calvin & Hobbsesque, I love it!
*sigh* Four shovelings later, we had our driveway cleared and the cul-de-saq cleared so we could actually get to the street. We estimated 20″ of snow.
man..compared to that..makes what we get in Minnesota look minuscule. O_o
“always that special time of year” LOL
Re: actual snow: Holy cow. People have to SHOVEL that stuff. See, that’s why I never wish for a ‘White Christmas.’
Mwahahaha!
In Los Angeles it was 72 degrees and sunny!
we had -42 C and cloudy :(
Man, west coast of BC sucks. We only ever get snow for like, a day or two, then we get crazy rain turning it into slush for a few rather unpleasant days, and then nothing. When we do have snow, it turns to ice because we have the whole damp cold of a coastal city rather than dry cold of inland cities.
Snow in DC is a bitch, Had to dig out two cars Sunday. But hey, since feds were off Monday, I had it off as well.
The thing that amazes me is that you have a D90.. and you are taking pics with your iPhone… =)
We got hit by a truck load of precipitation a couple of weeks ago too. It wasn’t 20 inches though, it was more like 12.
Is it more if it’s 100% liquid?
You are so luck hawk to have snow you can actually do something with. Here in Detroit we got less to no snow at all. This year I can make only 1 snowball with all the snow on my sidewalk. Last year I was able to make 40. Yeah big difference.
Looks just like Baltimore on Sunday. There’s nothing quite like shoveling out your car three times because the plows re-buried it the first two.
Pfft, if you think that’s bad, you should see the blizzard we got here in Omaha a few weeks back. Going off your first pic and the panorama, yours was only like ankle-deep to upper-calf-deep. That’s cake! Ours was above my knees, sometimes up to my thighs, and now we’re piling freezing rain on top of it.
Now imagine what it’s like in Alaska! :P
I should be so lucky. It rarely snows here in Austin; maybe once every ten years or so (1984 was the exception: 3 times during the winter).
Jeeze. Why cant we get that much in the vallies in Utah? Arent we supposed to get the greatest snow on Earth?
Where I live in Alaska we got so much I had to shovel out my car about three times each day this year. In retrospect I probably shouldn’t have got the car I got living up here… :(
We got lucky this year. Most of our six inches melted. To bad the water from that saturated the ground just before the temp dropped to 8. It’s like concrete out there.
