Bastard, you got a tokioflash before me Q_Q
Btw That’s the one I’m gonna get. Also nice after editing effect ^^
Every mad scientist should have one! That’s a pretty neat video effect blending the real and the imaginary.
That is one kick ass watch.
Rogue style <3
Another fellow Rogue owner. Have had one for 1.5yrs now and it’s still a great watch, and conversation piece. Deceptively easy to read, but draws nothing but blank stares or jealousy at first.

your after effects work is getting better.. good job hawk.
i have a feeling your going to be pulling an inside look of captain powers face mask soon…
Neat.
I don’t wear watches I have bad luck with them. They end up breaking on me within a month.
One, a quartz which had the day of the week where the three goes somehow got switched from English to Spanish and I never figured out how to fix it.
Yes I somehow switched the language on a analog watch.
First, I wanted it.
Then, I REALLY wanted it.
OOOOHHHH pretty! I recently aquired a tokyoflash watch and I loves it. Got the Tenmetsu… sooooo sexy.
FAAAKE! No one’s watch is that clean!
BIG O! IT’S SHOWWWWWTTIIIMMEEEE
Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who thought that.
T3T” i want one…
Okay, that is a pretty nice watch, hey, maybe that can be something Hawk messes around with in the next comic.
Just bought one. Love it.
So I finally get around selling my iMac and having enough savings for a Mac Pro and suddenly I see another cool gadget. Oh, the irony :P
sorry Hawk but nothing beats good old Swish watches.
so, is that a U watch from Martin Mystery? lol. Those were some way schway effects though. Nice work
ooo shiny
For a split second, I fell for it. Very nice.
This is not related to the video, but what program do you use to ink you artwork. It seems evident to me from the comics that you’re not simply using any type of pen.
i use photoshop to create the comics.
Nice holowatch Hawk but your kinda missing…the clock.
that is the clock. inner circle is the hours, outer circle is the minutes.
No, no, no RedNBlood. The phrase you’re looking for is “Its hero time!” For that is clearly the omnitrix.
OMG was that a special effect? If not Im buying one!!!
nice man, though you should try motion tracking to get the animation to match the motion of the watch.
this place is a great resource for learning more after effects:
http://www.videocopilot.net
also to get an idea of the power of motion tracking, check out this tutorial from them:
http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/stabilize_shaky_footage/
hope this helps your endeavors into after effects. doing good so far!
OH and for some ironman fun…

And we love you Hawk. And we love you. (MOTIONS FOR SOMEONE GET THE SEDATIVE INJECTION NEEDLE)
Fantastic device. But can it deploy energy shielding? Or emit concussive blasts? Those are the questions that matter.
Forget the shielding or emitting blasts… I want it to make TOAST!
OK so it IS an after effect. But I think you could make a watch project a…it’s not really a holograph, but it looks like one. You could get it to do that with enough tiny LEDs and software. The watch would probably have to be bigger. And it’d only be visible from the correct angle. And the image would probably have to be smaller than the watch.
Like those mirrored bowls that people put stuff into and it makes a ‘hologram’. Y’all may have seen ‘em in novelty shops and stuff. People have a penchant for puttin’ little pigs in ‘em.
Or sometimes if they’re really evil, they’ll build it into a table and put a piece of candy into it *mwahaha* :D
I thought about the possibility of making it real too… Maybe the technology behind Bokode could be used to accomplish it without the mirrors… it’s an image that appears when you focus the camera on a point before or behind it.
Or maybe tiny autostereoscopic LCDs will be made one day that allow this… or special Autostereoscopic LEDs just for the watch… I have no idea how it would work, but it seems sorta feasible…
Hawk,
Nice CG one minor detail when you add the effect make sure it is stable to watch instead of with the camera movement. You lose the effect when it moves with the camera. BTW what is the watch?
I wish it could really do that :D but it’s already cool enough as is ^^
I want one
Uber geek!
HOLLY CRAP IF THAT WERE REAL I WOULD GET IT!!XDDD
Ooo… I was thinking of getting a skeleton pocket watch, but after looking at the Tokyoflash site, I’m considering the Star Trekish/LCARS looking Galaxy or the Rogue…
How long did it take you to master the ability to read the time off it?
