so i work as a civil engineer down in NC and a bunch of the dudes in my office are muslim guys. they always take a walk together at break time and i pass them doing my laps. as i passed them today i said "Eid Mubarak, fellas!"

each and everyone if their dang faces lit up. one of the guys (whom we call "The Champ" 'cause his name is Mohamed Ali) came by my cubicle and thanked me. we then got into a cool discussion about the different muslim hollidays.

kinda amazing what one simple phrase can do...

Eid Mubarak!

Just wanted to make one other comment: the Arabic for congratulations is "mabruk" -- same consonants, different vowels. Mubarak simply means blessed.
