As I mentioned in my twitter on Sunday, Ramadan was over. Another month of fasting has come and gone. For most of us, Sunday was the day where we all got together at our local mosque and celebrated with friends and family.

If you have time, check out 100 beautiful mosque pictures from around the world.

If you have a muslim friend, greet him or her by saying Eid Mubarak. I promise you it will make them smile.

lol this is funny. i was congratulating my muslim friends until one of them told me this word. they had a odd time explaining what this is but now i have another day 2morrow to say it again with arab style instead of english. just find it a nice coincidence reading both comics.

How do you pronounce that, by the way?

Eid Mubarak! That’s so many people for what seems such small place. (Or perspective really tricks me)

I was surprised that the mosque in my city was in that list. Though it’s ranked 99, I still find it uncanny that is among them.

Hm…I’ll bear that in mind today. I actually just moved to a muslim country, and we have today and tomorrow off from school! I guess I know what my greeting will be to some of my friends ^^

Eid Mubarak!

Just wanted to make one other comment: the Arabic for congratulations is “mabruk” — same consonants, different vowels. Mubarak simply means blessed.

And thanks to your AG Lite comic I knew what to say to a fellow grad student today who brought his children to the lab today to celebrate.

so i work as a civil engineer down in NC and a bunch of the dudes in my office are muslim guys. they always take a walk together at break time and i pass them doing my laps. as i passed them today i said “Eid Mubarak, fellas!”

each and everyone if their dang faces lit up. one of the guys (whom we call “The Champ” ’cause his name is Mohamed Ali) came by my cubicle and thanked me. we then got into a cool discussion about the different muslim hollidays.

kinda amazing what one simple phrase can do…

In the big comic, is the second panel an Awesome Gaiden reference? Also, Eid Mubarak.
