Sorry that there’s no update today! Between coming off of Otakon and gearing up for SDCC we are pretty swamped! Anyway —

We are at SDCC this week! There are two Applegeeks events going on.

1. Signing! We’ll be signing from 11AM-12PM on Friday at the Dark Horse booth #2615. You can bring your own book, or you can pick one up there – Dark Horse has also graciously provided FREE double-sided posters of Applegeeks and Sinfest! We’ll be happy to sign those too.

2. Applegeeks meet-up: This is not an official event! We wanted to have a chance to meet up with some of our readers from the West Coast … since we won’t have a table, we’re setting aside 12-1 PM on Sunday to meet readers out in front of the convention center! We’ll be standing somewhere between the Fed Ex and the Starbucks on the outside of the building – we’ll hold up a sign. Keep an eye out! Come see us, we’d love to say hey. ;)

Hawk and I will be at Otakon! We’re sharing a table with Mookie in the Artist’s Alley and we’ll be bringing as many copies of Applegeeks Volume 1 as we can carry! Come say hey and grab some merch if you so desire! ;) Also, Hawk will be there on Friday and Saturday — he will NOT be there Sunday! If you do want something and you’d like it signed by both of us – or if you’d like a scribble from Hawk – you’ve gotta catch us in the first two days. And no, we don’t charge for either of those! ;)

Sorry about the lack of post this week. I have been working on a few illustrations for a client at work.

If you’re not following me on twitter, I mentioned a new tumblr site that I created for my sketches. For a while now, the only thing I was drawing were AG characters. To be honest, that started to bother me because I should be drawing many things on a daily basis.

So what I started to do is..

In my moleskine sketchbook, after I finish drawing on two pages, I would scan and post the spread online for you guys to see. The sketches are not anything specific. It can be an idea that popped up, a random character design, or just notes.

If there is anything you would like to see me draw such as fantasy, sci-fi, aliens, monsters, girls, etc. Just leave a comment and I will take it as a consideration.

I was going to do an awesome entry, it was going to be so cool, but I’m totally exhausted. I just got back home today and I am dead … s-sorry! I’m eating roasted cashews and flipping through a book.

Hey guys! Late night, can’t sleep. Transformers 2 … did you see it? Did you like it? I know what the critics think – I’ve read Ebert’s write-up (I laughed my ass off) and I’ve ready about the weird disjoint between what the critics are saying and the numbers the movie is raking in.

I saw the first movie with low expectations – all I wanted to see was Peter Cullen voice Optimus Prime and to have Optimus Prime mess up some Decepticons … if I were to go into this one with similar expectations, would I be disappointed? According to the reviews I’ve read, there are still some unfortunate race stereotypes going on with the robots, and that was probably my biggest point of dislike with the first one.

Also … does Starscream finally get a voice? And a role?
